09.01.2022 Ever wonder how we communicate with spacecraft millions of miles away? Theres no Wi-Fi in space, so join us to learn about the Deep Space Network from its chief scientist, Dr. Joseph Lazio. He'll be taking your questions live.
09.01.2022 Watch the skies! This October, for the first time in over two years, Mars outshines Jupiter as the third brightest object in the night sky. Why? Mars is at opposition and in its closest orbit to Earth, as close as 40 million miles away! Learn more: https://go.nasa.gov/3nye7Nb
08.01.2022 The space company will set two new records with its 100th liftoff - get ready 3,2,1...
07.01.2022 St Columbas Primary Grade 5's learning about the ISS today and coded robots to deliver their payload to the station. It was inspiring to see so many girls and boys participating in conversation relating to the astronauts returning to Earth today, and Perseverance transported by Atlas heading to Mars.
07.01.2022 Are you an early bird? This week's clear skies give a chance to see all five naked-eye planets at once ... as long as you're up before sunrise! The planets are ...constantly on the move, and they occasionally gather together. Just now though, they're spread across the morning sky, so get out after about 4 am to see Jupiter, Saturn, Mars and Venus, plus the Moon. If you want Mercury as well, you'll need to wait until after 5:30, and towards 6 am, as twilight brightens the sky. But wait - there's more! If you can find the Moon in the morning sky on Friday, you can use it to locate Venus, if the sky is clear enough. Use the charts below, to see where to look. If you have a good digital camera, it should be possible to photograph both objects.
06.01.2022 Wilston State School students created a radar today and learned about electromagnetic waves, gears, and coding. Our Robotic students are building their own marble run using Mindstorms. #magisto
06.01.2022 Young Engineers - Space Challenge Students of 2020 - Wilston State School, Home School, St Columbas and Dakabin State School. Perseverance will be landing on Mars. Tune in. Young Engineers conducts Space Challenge School incursions where students study for a term "Our Journey to Mars - Space Challenge" Last year we watched rockets launch destined for Mars during July-August. During the term, students created their own EV3 robotic Journey from Earth -ISS - to the Moon-then to Mars where our focus was on colonizing Mars. Students created their own housing pods, planned the journey, created robot extensions to launch rockets. They documented the journey to Mars, returning back to earth, following the Engineering Process Cycle, in the provided Space Challenge Workbook.

03.01.2022 Live anywhere in this giant circle? Then good news! The International Space Station will be visible to you tonight! If you’re in or around Brisbane keep an ...eye out from 7:51pm (note: times may vary slightly depending on where you are - check an ISS spotting app for a more accurate time based on your location). The ISS will appear in the north-west and disappear in the south-east. It’ll only be visible for about 6 minutes. Watch out for the bright light streaking across the sky. No telescope needed - the satellite will be visible to the naked eye (weather permitting). Let us know if you see it! PRO TIP: Set an alarm in your phone now so you don't forget : heavens-above.com Get more ABC News from Brisbane here: http://bit.ly/AbcNewsBrisbane
