25.01.2022 Introverts and the workplace. Being an extrovert, it appears that introverts have it harder in the workplace. They are seldom at networking activities (like morning teas), prefer to work alone or in small teams and are usually quiet. Makes it hard for an extrovert to relate and understand (because our tendency is to point out the introvert at the wrong times, like trying to make them talk at big meetings). Google definition: In the workplace, emotional dissonance is the conflict between experienced emotions and emotions expressed to conform to display rules. Simple speaking, it is when you put on an outward emotional appearance (to comply with the workplace), which differs from what you are truly feeling. in most cases, staff are unable to disguise their emotions.
