15.01.2022 One of our most popular (and best performing) Instagram posts was Hannah's Sunday tips a few weeks ago. You might have heard that you should be writing blogs for your website's SEO. Which is 100% true. But if you've never done this before, it can be a little unclear what the heck you're meant to actually be writing about. So, here are some step-by-step instructions for coming up with blog topics designed specifically to rank for the questions your audience is asking ...in Google search. 1 Figure out what your target audience is searching for. Let's say for example that you sell essential oils. In that case, the first thing that your target audience might search for in Google is (quite literally): 'essential oils'. 2 Next up, go to Ubersuggest (or another keyword research tool like keywordtool.io or wordtracker.com) and plug in your target keyword. Once you put that in, you'll get a whole bunch of keyword recommendations based on what you put in. 3 Click the 'questions' option in your keyword research tool. This is the most useful part: you'll now get a list of questions that real people are searching in google about your target keyword. For 'essential oils'? You could choose: 'what are essential oils' or 'can you put essential oils in a bath'. 4 Next step? Craft a blog that answers that question in a clear, helpful way. And that's it! Pro tip: If you haven't done much SEO before, it's best to choose keywords that don't have a huge monthly search volume. And by huge, I mean somewhere around 500+ searches. The reason for this is that those keywords can be pretty competitive, which can make it harder to rank for them. See more

15.01.2022 Do you listen to audio books? After spending more than half of my career working in publishing, my love of the printed book has curbed my enthusiasm for audio books. That, and I thought that I would get distracted if I wasn't reading the words and turning the pages.... And then the very clever Odette from Odette & Co sent me an audio book and told me to just lay down and close my eyes that it would be incredibly relaxing. Holy smokes, she was right. And just like that, I am hooked. In two weeks, I am already onto my third audio book. Right now, I'm loving Company Of One by Paul Jarvis. It's brimming with lessons for entrepreneurs and creative professionals alike. The big take away for me? Build better, not bigger. Add this to your reading, or listening, list. Erin x

14.01.2022 There is nothing more boring than seeing the same memes and the same links regurgitated across multiple accounts, right? Or is that just us? We've always felt that posting links to articles without context was kinda lazy content marketing.... Especially when something big is announced by one of the major marketing platforms such as Facebook or Google and every marketer on earth is sharing it with #breaking And yes, we're casting stones, but we're guilty of this tactic, too so #nojudgement Thing is, we're all better than that. Whether we're marketers sharing timely insights snapped up from leading blogs, or brands sharing themed posts because it's #tacotuesday Uniqueness is what makes social media interesting. And curated content that lacks your own unique perspective makes it boring. So even if you're sharing a post or a link procured from elsewhere, add your own spin to it your community wants to hear from you, after all. *** the irony that this post includes a link is not lost on us *** https://contentmarketinginstitute.com//content-curation-s/

12.01.2022 And, according to the study by Porter Novelli, 75 percent of these clever Gen Zers will do their own research to see if a company is being honest when it takes a stand on issues. Talk about a generation of critical thinkers. When we look at our numbers (and our clients' stats and figures) year-on-year, we can actually see an uplift in almost every area where responsible brands are concerned.... More people are searching for ethical, sustainable, cruelty-free, animal-friendly, responsible than ever before we can see this in the monthly search volumes on Google. And more people are converting based on real value propositions in Facebook Ads better for the planet, better for the community messages are getting cut through. How flipping good is that. While there is *so* much more work to be done, stats like this make us feel like positive change is actually happening. And that's the kind of good news we all need right now. See more

05.01.2022 Wanna know a cheeky hack for improving engagement on Instagram? Well, there are two we're sharing tonight: 1 After posting, spend 10-minutes engaging with your community (we're sure you've heard that before). Take this to the next level by replying to each comment on the day they occur, then going back and liking each comment from the previous day this pops a notification in their feed (putting you back in front of them) ... 2Use interactive stickers in Stories as a way to open up a conversation in DMs. Yup. Ask a question. Throw down a poll. And then use this as an opportunity to thank your community for interacting. You'd be surprised at some of the brilliant conversations you might find yourself having. The best bit? The Insta algorithm loves this kind of engagement (and your community likely will appreciate it, too). See more
