25.01.2022 Yum! One of our favourite foodie neighbours @latortilleriaau has shared their secrets to making Chilaquiles the proper Mexican ‘nachos’ on @AssemblePapers. If this gets you craving authentic Mexican while you're social distancing, La Tortilleria, they are now doing online orders for their grocery items and take-home packs. 21.01.2022 In celebration of World Heritage Day, this week we're going to share with you a glimpse into the history of our wonderful 100-year-old wool store. Younghusband is historically and aesthetically significant as one of only a few substantial wool store complexes to survive in Victoria. Built in 1901 as a wool store for R Goldsbrough and Co. (becoming Younghusband Row and Co. in 1902), the Younghusband wool store complex was developed over a period of some 60 years.

12.01.2022 We spotted this wonderful initiative by a Kensington community member on the @KensingtonGoodKarmaNetwork. Will has set up a page to support Kensington businesses that are finding innovative ways to continue. They've listed places to get takeaway food and coffees, and they also want to include other services people may need. Feel free to check out the list when you're looking to stay local, and if you know of any business to add (such as a local accountant who is meeting through video or phone calls, or a personal trainer doing online coaching) scroll to the bottom and let them know.

10.01.2022 Just a reminder that the Younghusband team will be providing a project update on an online panel session tomorrow at 6pm. To register or submit questions please head to our website https://www.younghusbandwoolstore.com.au/participate

09.01.2022 There is much more to the Younghusband story than storing wool. From the rafters once hung a voluminous white tutu almost a storey tall as well as rows and rows of ballet costumes. Younghusband was home to The Australian Ballet costume store from the 90's until 2013, an impressive collection including pieces dating back to the earliest days of the The Australian Ballet and the many performances of Swan Lake. Lining the walls were boxes of wigs, boots, hats, shoes, tights, masks and hundreds of jars of trim and materials. Photo by Jess Bialek Photographer

05.01.2022 Impact Investment Group would like to share the plans for the Younghusband Woolstore Stage 2 Development. These plans have been developed after several years of engagement with local residents and interested community members. The input received from this engagement has helped to determine the look and feel of the application. The intention is to lodge the Development Application with the City of Melbourne in December 2020. Please visit our website https://www.younghusbandwoo...lstore.com.au/participate to find a presentation including a comprehensive overview of what is proposed. This presentation was developed for a community engagement meeting held on the 21st October 2020 and attended by 28 community members. A recording of the meeting is also available. Please feel free to comment and ask question via the website until the 25th November. Responses to questions will be made via the FAQ’s so that the broader community can benefit from the information.

05.01.2022 We are pleased to announce the establishment of a community garden on the Younghusband triangle in Eastwood Street. Please join us in opening the garden with a community plant in, mulch day and BBQ on Friday 19th March 2021 from 5pm.

05.01.2022 Visitors are always curious about the name 'Younghusband'. Younghusband originates from one of the building’s first occupants, wool and produce brokers Younghusband and Company Ltd. The company was founded in 1889 by Isaac Younghusband, a pastoralist and merchant squatter, who engaged in woolbroking as well as being a stock and station agent. How special is this Younghusband ghost sign still so visible on the brickwork.
