The latest edition presented 147 infrastructure proposals of national significance, the largest number since the lists inception.... This year, the list introduced five new high priority national initiatives, one of which was road maintenance.

21.01.2022 Don't forget that the Call for Teaching Papers for the IPWEA WA Professional Development Week (formally the Public Works Training Week) are now open! The Professional Development Week will run from Monday 18 - Friday 22 November 2019. Submit your abstract by Friday 7 June.



20.01.2022 Last chance to submit an abstract for the 2018 State Conference, The Changing Face of Public Works. Abstracts Abstracts addressing the conference topics should include a focus on lessons learned, and the inclusion of case studies is welcomed. Potential presenters are requested to provide a personal bio, a photograph (in JPEG format) and an abstract of no more than 300 words outlining the content of their paper by Friday 3 November 2017.... Written Papers vs Presentations Only Recognising that life is busy and people still wish to contribute but may not have the time to write a technical paper, this year the Institute is allowing abstract submissions for both presentations with a technical paper supplied, and for presentations only with no technical paper required.

Save the date! Abstracts... Abstracts addressing the Training Week topics should include a focus on providing information on new processes, technologies or lessons learned. 10.01.2022 Things have been super busy at the IPWEA WA office lately with lots of things on the go so here's a quick update for you: We have an information forum coming up on the 9 October which is being presented in conjunction IPWEA Victoria and will cover lessons learned from COVID-19 during Victoria's stage 4 lockdown; we have 3 Asset Management Webinars coming up on the 20, 21 & 22 October in conjunction with IPWEA covering an Introduction to Asset Management, Levels of Service & L...inking Asset Management to the Long Term Financial Plan. Planning for the Annual Country Meeting on the 6 November in Margaret River is well underway & promises its usual high standard of presentations, tours, and the ever popular Gala Dinner. The program for the 2020 PD Week is almost complete, with only a few spaces left to fill before we open registrations and planning is well underway for the 2021 Conference with several Keynotes and presentations already locked in. Registrations for all events will be open very soon so keep an eye out on the website or contact me at the office for more information. Members and Colleagues of the Institute, professionals and academics working in the public works sector are invited to submit expressions of interest to present at IPWEA WAs 2021 Annual State Conference to be held in Fremantle in March. The IPWEA WA Conference is the leading public works event on the Western Australian ca...lendar and it is attended by participants from all areas of public works. It provides a great opportunity to promote your organisation and yourself to delegates who attend this event. The Conference theme is A Whole New World and is based around the way we thought of the world, particularly the way technology and innovations were heading pre-COVID 19 is so very different to the way world adapted during COVID-19, and the way the world will go/is going forward post-COVID 19 in the new normal as everyone has had to be more innovative and creative to remain relevant. WA has been fortunate regarding restrictions with the COVID-19 pandemic, however contingencies are in place should the restrictions change. 05.01.2022 On Thursday members from the Young IPWEA Committee attended the Curtin University O Day Fact Fair, meeting with over 60 potential Engineering students. The event was a fantastic way for our Young IPWEA committee to connect with those entering the industry and was deemed a great success. We're already planning how to make our attendance at the February 2020 O Day bigger & better! Thanks Rowan Wiltshire, Luke McGuirk & Renuka Imalage for being our voices for the day!
