24.01.2022 Musical Reflection The Chorus of the Saved (Written by Trevor Hodge) Below is number 5 in a series of short reflections on the songs that we sing at church (1 at a time). It’s a chance to go deeper and reflect on the gospel message in each song while we do church in isolation. I hope it’s encouraging, but please don’t feel guilty if you don’t get to it... I have never ached to sing with the saints as I do now. It is over 5 months since we sang together about our great God and the many wondrous deeds he has done and continues to do. I admit that I once took singing together for granted. I preferred my favourite songs. Or I thought too much about my singing and less about what I was singing. But all that is a fading memory while we’re prevented from gathering. Now I thirst to proclaim God’s truth together with music and enthusiasm. To lift up our voices as one (regardless of how in tune we are). To sing with gusto to the one who’s greatness and kindness cannot be fathomed. Be encouraged dear friends: this moment apart will not last. And a greater day will come when we will gather together with all the saints and angels to sing as one before our great God. And let’s keep practising and praising in song- in the car, shower, garden, or wherever you find yourself singing. Remember the love of God the Father in Jesus and let your heart sing to words like The Chorus of the Saved: Verse 3 Through His blood our forgiveness is sure By His Spirit within we’ll endure Holding on to this hope as an anchor for our soul And our eyes fixed on Jesus- The one who saves us Chorus Come join the song in earth and heaven voices raised In the chorus of the saved Come, shout his Name, come lift a sacrifice of praise With the chorus of the saved https://www.youtube.com/watch?reload=9&v=ilpVNCSOH8k YouTubeYouTube | Emu Music Chorus of the Saved // Emu Music

18.01.2022 Guess what people!!! This year's church weekend is going to be out! Held over all day Saturday and Sunday morning with the option of camping. Put it in your calendar. Further details to come.

18.01.2022 On behalf of the CCK Committee - I inform you that after 6 good years it has been decided, due to a culmination of reasons, CCK will not be returning in 2021. I...nstead we will be refreshing the vision, rethinking our approach to engaging our community and how this ministry can best be effective in showing Christ’s love. We thank all those who prayed, volunteered, encouraged and supported this ministry with your time & finances over the years. We mostly thank God for all He has done in growing this ministry and we look forward to all He has planned in the future. ‘Watch this space’ Together in Christ April See more

18.01.2022 Musical Reflection Grace Alone [Dustin Kensrue] Below is number 4 in a series of short reflections on the songs that we sing at church (one at a time). It’s a chance to go deeper and reflect on the gospel message in each song while we do church in isolation. I hope it’s encouraging, but please don’t feel guilty if you don’t get to it... Grace is one of those words. You know, one of those words that we hear a lot as Christians but perhaps don’t know exactly what it means. Grace be with you; or I’m saved by grace. Truth is, grace is one of the most beautiful truths the bible speaks. And that’s because of our sin. Well it starts with our sin. You see, sin puts us in the most disastrous position possible in this life and the next. Romans 2:5 tells us- But because of your stubbornness and your unrepentant heart, you are storing up wrath against yourself for the day of God’s wrath, when his righteous judgment will be revealed. That should make us all a little nervous. For that’s what our sin deserves- God’s wrath. We are all in this position before Godwithout grace. Grace is this great truth that means many beautiful things wrapped up in hope for us: God’s plan to save us from his wrath; Jesus dying on the cross to pay for my sins; God’s kindness in rescuing sinners; our inability to contribute to our salvation (it’s all a gift from God); God making a way for us to move from being his enemies to being called his sons and daughters; and God giving us his Spirit to guide us through this life and into heaven. God’s grace shows us the love, glory and greatness of God. The song Grace Alone is a prayer reflecting on God’s grace and rightly praising him for it. There are few songs quite as rich in gospel truths as this beauty. God’s grace be yours both now and evermore, Geoff You can enjoy this song with lyrics here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jG--heg6m68&t=1s Or my favourite version here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=99HOteXnLfA

17.01.2022 A short reflection on the song we sang yesterday. Thanks Geoff Davis for putting this together! I love gardening. The feel of the soil in my hands. The range of (mostly good) smells that fill the air. And the satisfaction of something to show for my hard work. It’s so satisfying. I wonder what gives you the same sort of satisfaction? What do you love doing? Maybe you’re a keen patch-worker; or you find great satisfaction in your grandchildren; or playing sport; or maybe the ...search for the ultimate pair of shoes gets your blood flowing (my grandmother used to have 22 pairs!). There are many things that we love in this world. The thing is, none of them last. Sure, these things can bring satisfaction for a time. But that season will come and go. Yet there is one thing that can give us everlasting satisfaction. One thing that can never be taken away. And therefore, one thing that should keep our focus day in and day out. Jesus. The author of Hebrews tells us (12:1a-2a): Let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. Jesus is the pioneer of our faith. In Jesus we find our true identity as children of God. So let’s fix our eyes on Jesus every day, and sing together the words of You are My Vision: I don't want riches or man's empty praise You're my inheritance, now and always You and You only, the first in my heart High king of Heaven, my treasure You are (Verse 4) You can enjoy this song here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rMmSPOF-6Xo
