Product costing is an area that needs to be correct. Getting the cost of the product correct will ensure that anticipated margins are going to be more accurate. One of the biggest errors is getting machine output right. Overstated / estimated output will make all calculations incorrect. One of the most important things in starting a business, when staff is required, is the understanding of awards. This will prevent issues and miss understandings down the track and ensure that employees are paid correctly. Employment contracts are a good way to protect the business, as it lets staff know their rights and also the employers rights, from day one. Staff that are happy are easier to retain and this says the company money. Inductions may seem a waste of time but if done correctly will help with duty of care and limit possible issues especially with workers compensation claims. Consider progression planning especially if a large part of the workforce is mature aged. This is very important in businesses where skills are hard to replace. Lost of skills may have a big effect in the long term running of the business.

11.01.2022 Have finally gotten approval from institute to use membership designation. Can now organise stationery etc and get the business out there. It has been a long process.
