01.01.2022 Did you know our gut is also known as our second brain? The communication between the gut and brain is so important and work in both ways via the vagus nerve. It links the emotional and the cognitive centres of the brain with peripheral intestinal functions and it’s called gut-brain axis. The bacteria in the gastrointestinal tract send a signal to the brain and vice and versa, through various links (neural, endocrine, immune and humoral).
