09.01.2022 Well we arrived home tonight from our 10 day adventure in South Australia, and everything seems to have survived here while we were away. Stephen and I had a wonderful time visiting family and doing some sightseeing. There is certainly a lot to see and do in SA, and the hills area around Mt Barker, where we were staying, is very pretty. We left a 'bookmark' where we left off, and next time we go there we will open up to that page and continue the adventure of discovering Sou...th Australia. The quotes this week are not surprisingly about travel, and I hope they get you wanting to throw off your routines for a while and go adventuring. Even a week or two can freshen you up and enable you to take a new look at your life. So here are this week's quotes, starting with Helen Keller - "Life is either a daring adventure or nothing at all." Jobs fill your pocket, but adventures fill your soul. ~ Jamie Lyn Beatty To Travel is to Live ~ Hans Christian Andersen "Go fly, roam, travel, voyage, explore, journey, discover, adventure." And then there is the most dangerous risk of all the risk of spending your life not doing what you want on the bet you can buy yourself the freedom to do it later. ~ Randy Komisar I haven’t been everywhere, but it’s on my list. ~ Susan Sontag "Take only memories. Leave only footprints." Now it's time for me to go to bed and dream about my next adventure. I must say I will miss my family again, and miss the walks to the playground every day and trips to see new places and things. For now I will enjoy the memories, then I will plan the next trip . . . Have a wonderful week.

06.01.2022 I'm still trying to get my feet back on the ground after my short break away to South Australia. The year of programs has started, when I'm realising either how much I have forgotten, or how much I remember of the activities I undertake - Tai Chi, Ukulele and Boot Scooting (otherwise known as Line Dancing). It's amazing what a break of a few weeks can do to your memory! So the quotes for this week are again about building up our personal strength, and living our lives as well... as we can. The first quote is from Helen Keller, who as you may remember is a favourite of mine. She conquered such adversities in her life that there is a lot we could learn from her about strength of character. Helen Keller epitomises the quote from Gandhi below. Although she had severe physical handicaps, she used her indomitable will to enable her to lead a remarkable life. "Never bend your head. Always hold it high. Look the world right in the eye." -- Helen Keller Fire is the test of gold; adversity, of strong men. Seneca Strength does not come from physical capacity. It comes from an indomitable will. Mahatma Gandhi Few men during their lifetime come anywhere near exhausting the resources dwelling within them. There are deep wells of strength that are never used. Richard E. Byrd Our real problem, then, is not our strength today; it is rather the vital necessity of action today to ensure our strength tomorrow. Dwight D. Eisenhower Very often the right word at the right time in our lives helps us to go forward in life and overcome obstacles. See if you can find something in these quotes to help you in your life. Have a wonderful week.

02.01.2022 This is interesting - make sure you get enough sleep!!

01.01.2022 Hello Beautiful People, This week I need something to smile about, so I'm calling on Dr Seuss to help, and hope you join me in smiling, or even laughing maybe. Theodor Seuss "Ted" Geisel (1904 - 1991) was a German-American author, political cartoonist, poet, animator, book publisher, and artist, best known for authoring more than 60 children's books under the pen name Doctor Seuss.... My beautiful family who have lived in Busselton all the time I've been here have now relocated to South Australia - and Australia is such a BIG country. I will really miss having them there, but will now have a reason to visit them in SA. So bring on the smiles Dr Seuss . . . "Don't cry because it's over, smile because it happened." "Sometimes you will never know the importance of a moment until it becomes a memory." "Sometimes the questions are complicated and the answers are simple." This one is for Sue, who had her birthday on the weekend. "Today you are You, that is truer than true. There is no one alive who is Youer than You." "Why fit in when you were born to stand out?" "Today was good, today was fun, tomorrow is another one." You're never too old, too wacky, too wild, to pick up a book and read to a child." "Remember me and smile, for it's better to forget than to remember me and cry." So I'll keep smiling and be thankful for the wonderful transport system that will enable me to visit the family in South Australia. I won't see them as often, but I will be able to visit them sometimes, and it will be a new adventure. "oh, the places you'll go!" Have a wonderful week.
