12.01.2022 Hi, I’m Amelia Birch. Your Personal Sommelier. Lovely to meet you! 3 things about me: I can’t answer binary questions (don’t make me)... I love the colour pink I don’t have a ‘favourite’ wine (see first point) People often ask me what my fave wine is and I can’t answer - partly because I’m shocking at answering questions like that, but mainly because I have learnt to love LOTS of different wines for the qualities that make them, them. I believe that once you actually know a little bit about wine and your palate, then you’ll find you think less about whether you like it and more about whether you think it’s ‘true to style’, or ‘a good expression of the varietal’ and other winey statements. If you too want to understand more about the underlying characteristics of what makes a Riesling a Riesling, or a Pinot Noir and Pinot Noir, then jump onto the webby and sign up for a Simple Sample Box to get started on your wine journey! 10.01.2022 Ive been feeling so sad for our country over the last couple of weeks and havent felt like posting. Ive been donating, striking, speaking up, and changing my day to day habits to be more environmentally sustainable and respectful, and am now ready for a big, bold, beautiful 2020! I moved into a new home/work space last week where Ill be hosting regular wine tastings, for couples marrying, as well as for anyone and everyone who wants to learn more about wine and how to pair it with food, to mix up a box of wine to take home, and to meet interesting new people along the way. I saw this incredible image today by photographer extraordinaire @danoday and wanted to share it, because there is nothing so good as having a glass of beautiful bubbles in your hands
