24.01.2022 The way you report employment income is about to change. From Monday 7 December, you’ll report the gross amount you and your partner were paid during your reporting period. You’ll be able to find this amount on your payslip. You’ll still report the hours you worked as usual. But if you haven’t been paid during your reporting period, you won’t need to report any paid income, even if you worked some shifts during that period. 09.01.2022 Some of our lovely ladies recently attended the Suicide Prevention SafeTALK hosted by the Sunshine Coast Business Women's Network. The Alliance for Suicide Prevention on the Sunshine Coast discusses warning signs to look out for, when people have thoughts of suicide, and how to start the conversation in a respectful and empathetic manner. Also where to get help and how you can assist and support them through this difficult time.

09.01.2022 Centrelink/DVA Nominee Service We all know that dealing with government departments can be time consuming and frustrating. One of the services that we offer through Poole Groups Aged Care division, is the Nominee Service. This has proven to be extremely popular with clients as it involves us taking over their Centrelink/DVA obligations for 12 months at a time. Clients and their families feel that this is especially convenient for when they are heading down the path of moving... into an aged care facility. During this time there are many things to report to the Department of Human Services, which talks directly to Centrelink and DVA. By reporting everything required, it will ensure you are also getting paid the right entitlements. This service is also useful for clients who are still casually employed and need to report their earnings, or clients who are applying for the pension for the first time. 06.01.2022 Hi All, I'm asking all my friends to like and share this post if you know someone that might need to read this. As most of my friends know, my mum is in aged care and I want to make a difference to those faced with the same reality. Firstly, NO ONE wants to live in a nursing home. But every day, of every working week, I meet with families and this choice has been taken away from them, for one reason or another. It has become their reality and is staring them in the eye. Ig...norance is no longer an option. The hospital are saying you need to look for a nursing home and time is of the essence! I would love to see people being a little more prepared for this moment as it is one of the most emotional and gut wrenching realities in life. I'm not saying that you need to pick out a nursing home or make any solid decisions. I AM saying you need to educate yourself and know what is involved, when/if this decision ever needs to be made. You NEED to know that not all nursing homes are the same and what living in full time aged care looks like. You need to know how much it will cost and what you can do now. To breakdown these barriers I have organised educational bus tours to get people thinking about aged care . I want families to start the aged care conversation that they have been ignoring. I want to provide people with a way to educate themselves and know how to start investigating aged care. These bus tours visit 3 different nursing homes and people will leave with a conversion starter for their families and a tool kit of information. My aim is that everyone leaves with a better understanding of what questions they should be asking themselves and a starting point. Thanks so much, Sharon
