15.01.2022 Hi everyone, for those that don’t know me, my name is Zayd Dunsmuir and ill be running for Townsville’s Campus Officer position in the upcoming 2020 JCUSA Elections this October! 2020 will be my 4th and last year of studying law and I wish to give to the students of JCU, the new and the old, a better university and campus experience that will continue to ripple through-out the years to come! 07.01.2022 G’day All, I’m Kyran Mellor, and I’m running for Vice President of the Student Association. I’ve had the pleasure of being your Townsville Campus Officer this year, and would love to continue to support the Clubs of JCU by being the Vice President of JCUSA. In the last year we’ve improved many aspects of Club Life, affiliations, equipment bookings - and club involvement and affiliations have been the highest I’ve seen in my time at JCU. I firmly believe that Clubs are the fo...undation of campus life and I strive to see them flourish. In my time in Townsville, I’ve lived both on campus and off campus, I’ve suffered the parking changes and arbitrary LearnJCU ‘updates’. I firmly believe that being a student should be an academic experience, with the focus on excellence will less distractions, and I’ll do what I can to make Student life as simple as possible, and endeavour to set up avenues of representation, and ensure that students are consulted when changes occur that affect students directly. I’ve been a student of JCU’s Campus since 2016 and would relish the opportunity to give back to the Cairns community by helping to support JCU clubs, continuing support programs, and maximizing the use of YOUR SSA fees in a way that positively effects your time at JCU. I would be looking to open dialogue with the multiple clubs and organisations around c...ampus to help them develop and grow with support. In addition to this, we as a team would be looking to continue the free university breakfast provided on Wednesday mornings, investigate opportunities to utilise the university bar, and other community-based opportunities, while staying transparent and open with you, the student body.
