15.01.2022 These photos are a perfect example of a few things I covered in puppy class yesterday. I’m out with Boof for his last toilet trip before bed. He knows this and I know this. He knows we're not going anywhere until he goes. If we go into the backyard this is all over and done with in two minutes, tops. Tonight we went out the front, where there's many more interesting things for him to smell. I know it's going to take longer. 100% he will not do his business until he's scrolled... through the news feed. We wandered out the front for nearly ten minutes. He finally chose a tree and when he was finished he headed straight to the door. That's an example of classical conditioning. I haven't deliberately taught him this is the last wee of the day and I'm gonna stand around til he goes. He's made that association on his own. That's also why you need to hang around for a bit with your pups when they're out for a loo break. So they don't drag it out when they want to stay out. It's also an example of a really easy way I provided Boof with some extra enrichment today. I knew it was going to take longer, but I had the time and I knew he would enjoy it. See more

I picked up these Snuffle Mats for puppy classes yesterday and let him have a look before I put any dry food in it.... he’s just like Thank you.
