21.01.2022 Networking can be daunting. We find the best thing to do before attending any meeting is to have a plan. I know we are always talking about plans! However, this is a great idea for networking if you want to make a great first impression. Have some interesting (or fun!) facts about yourself ready, so you always have something to say and there are no awkward gaps in conversation - let's face it, there are only so many times you can discuss the weather!

21.01.2022 It does not take a genius to know that responding to emails in a timely manner is polite. However, none of us want to be permanently attached to our inbox, it is not productive. Check your emails twice a day and action those that can be responded to. Even if you state that you are unable to action immediately, but give a time-frame in which you will respond.

Remember: Email is not always as secure as you would like It is easy to send an email to the wrong person... Your email might be forwarded If you work for a large organisation, the IT department will have copies of your emails Lastly Your email can be used as written evidence. So it is not ok to stretch the truth!

17.01.2022 Our top 3 tips to staying mentally healthy can assist you to overcome feelings of business overwhelm. Tip 1 Have a toolkit - again we talk about planning, but doing things like setting up a daily routine, preparing your meals in advance, knowing what self-care things work for you are just a few examples of having a pre-planned list to refer to will make life much easier.... Tip 2 Stay connected - have a list of people you can talk to - family, friends or network contacts. Tip 3 Practice positivity - what you say to yourself is important, take note of things you are saying to yourself and try to turn negative self-talk into positive and realisitic comments. Remember, you can only focus on what you can control.

16.01.2022 Beep Beep Beep the alarm clock goes off, you look at the clock and see 05:30am, you turn over to get 10 more minutes in. Next thing you look at the clock and it shows 06:30am, you fly out of bed in a rush to get ready for work! Most successful men and women have one thing in common. They start their day early as it gives them time to sit, think, and plan their day. When you get up early you are more calm, creative, and clear-headed. As the day progresses, your energy levels start going down which affects your productivity, and you don’t perform as well.

16.01.2022 Who has an Idea Vault? Do you have fabulous ideas, then get overwhelmed with 'everyday' business life and forget the burst of inspiration that popped into your head! Do you have so many ideas bursting out of your head, but they overwhelm you because you do not have a chance to do them all?... This is very common ground! The best solution is to create an "Ideas Vault" Somewhere you can put all your ideas in one place and then be able to come back to them and pick and choose which ones you are going to do. You can use a good old notepad (dedicated to ideas and nothing else) an App like Trello or Asana (again have a dedicated project/board allocated to ideas) or even a pinboard/white board.

We have met some business owners who have a great business idea and have most of their ducks in a row but when you have a closer look, we see that they could be achieving so much more! When we tell them this, it can be quite exciting and enlightening as they see the goalposts move and a new, brighter path ahead.... We work closely with the business owner on the new approach and really enjoy seeing them rise to the challenge!

15.01.2022 Did you know ... we come across many people who use the same password for multiple things and whilst we know they are really annoying to remember - it can be a major weak spot of your security. Hands up if always having to change passwords is a major pain? I know we do! Solution - implement a password manager. There are free apps out there, so there are no excuses. Try apps like LastPass or DashLane and get started with better security now.

Most of us feel that multitasking is an efficient way of getting things done, but the truth is that we do better when we focus and concentrate on one thing. Multitasking hampers productivity and should be avoided to improve time management skills.

12.01.2022 Like many businesses, we have changed various elements of how we do business. LOVED - Being able to take our Discovery Sessions online. Not only has it saved travel time, but we find we have been able to get through the sessions quicker, sharing items with clients immediately as we work in real time. The cost is lower (Got to be a win!) However the best thing has been being able to record the sessions for future use for both clients and us - win win! NOT SO GOOD - there is a...lways something a bit 'extra' you get from the doing the sessions in person. Personalities seem to gel better and hence the business relationship seems to get off to a better start. What have been your wins and struggles and how do you see them changing your business going forward in 2020?

11.01.2022 When you have a task at hand, set a realistic deadline and stick to it. Try to set a deadline a few days before the task so that you can complete all those tasks that may get in the way. Challenge yourself and meet the deadline. Reward yourself for meeting a difficult challenge.

10.01.2022 Sometimes it is difficult to convey ideas through email. When that happens, use a different strategy! Pick up the phone! Have a real-life conversation and actually talk through a problem with someone. It can be much more effective than email in some cases. Dont shy away from responding by phone just because a question was asked in an email.

07.01.2022 Midweek is a great time to have 30 minutes before you start your work day to have a quick check in on your plans. See if you are tracking well or if things are starting to look like Friday will arrive and your to-do list will still have a mountain of items unchecked. If things are going a bit 'pear-shaped' then take a few minutes to readjust your schedule and make a mental note that for future planning what you could have done better.

07.01.2022 Do not rely on spell checkers or a quick skim read of your email...especially if it is an important email or being sent to a large mailing list! Take the time to read through the content and check for typos, grammar, does it make sense and does it convey the original idea. Get someone else to check over it for you, if you have any doubts.

You can engage with them on social media by liking, sharing and commenting on their posts to help increase their online presence. You could leave a positive review on Google or Facebook to help boost their search rankings and review scores. You could also 'Pay It Forward' by considering giving a gift voucher for a birthday or special occasion.
