05.01.2022 Never underestimate what kids can do! This ambitious idea was set by a beautiful girl to celebrate her birthday. Each different, unique, quirky... yes I guided them through how to make the form, but the kids had a million smaller decisions to make themselves.. parents, listen to your kids artistic voice they have no fear
03.01.2022 Do you struggle to have your supplies on hand? To store and sort them effectively when your on the go? This is my latest system and I’m loving it! I’ve tried the classic pencil case system (like everyone...) I loose things down the bottom, rubbers get dirty, pencils broken, and I can’t actually remember what’s in there or find what I’m looking for! I tried limiting supplies- just one or two pencils, a brush, paper? But, I’m a multidisciplinary artist- I draw, paint, sculpt... and print... at any given moment I need the right thing on hand to capture it properly. But, I never actually have what I need in the moment without searching. Surely you’ve been here too! Frustrating! Like any creative I have cupboards filled with supplies, but to find the item, tidy up the mess then inevitably be distracted or forget what I was looking for... it just doesn’t work! I’m sure you can relate!! This system started last year, I didn’t even think it was a system Until in conversation with another artist who recommended it to her students while in lockdown. It started, When I had to pack up my desk ready for a class last year - paints, paper, timber, etching plates, special objects, paints you name it, it all landed in this container... What I love is that I can pop the box in the cupboard, n grab it again in a moments notice.. This week it saved me as I’ve spent the best part of this past week inside with an eye injury and this kit has gone from the studio to bedside, to couch... I can see what I have, find any colour or find what I need in an instant. I’m not too limited, and work across many media, then shove the ‘mess’ back in the box... Every time we go away I find it hard to know what to take- now, I just pop the box on the car! It has all my essentials and I can update it easy... Do you need a new system? Give this one a go!
