25.01.2022 Cue the Barry White music. Goliath has returned to the ladies this week. After a few months in the bull paddock, he doesn't know which way turn now lol.

25.01.2022 Snow! The garden became a winter wonderland for a brief moment and we enjoyed every second of it.

25.01.2022 Here are the first cross bred (Square Meater x Red Poll) steers and heifers that will be ready for harvest in spring. Really happy with their ability to finish on grass.

24.01.2022 The face of guilt! Someone got busted splashing around in the dam.

24.01.2022 The Square Meater x Red Poll is an outstanding performer on grass. The last test is the taste. I might know where you could get some of my beef if anyones interested?

24.01.2022 Your Local Farmer Pasture Raised Beef is now available at Paddock To Table!

22.01.2022 It might be wet and muddy, but the soil is so ALIVE!

22.01.2022 No external inputs, just proper management of livestock and of course a great season of rain. Going to be plenty of hay from this paddock!

21.01.2022 The vegetable garden is my place of peace. Nurturing things that grow to then nurture you is incredibly fulfilling.

20.01.2022 I had the opportunity to try some oaten hay out with the cattle. I've never really used it before. Smells great, like tea leaves or tobacco.... cattle love it too

20.01.2022 I've got some big boys that are almost finished!

20.01.2022 This beauty is a little early, but I will take it!

19.01.2022 The taller the animal, the more energy it needs to maintain body condition. The Square Meater on the right likes the hay, but the red on the left needs it.

18.01.2022 And the baby calfs of 2020 are starting to arrive.

18.01.2022 The kids were able to get up close to the lambs at marking time. I'm convinced raising them on a farm will keep them well balanced through life.

18.01.2022 Yeah I'm showing off, but it goes to show what management can do. A poly wire and a herd of cattle can clear the overgrown grass around this beehive with precision.

18.01.2022 I couldn't move this solid concrete trough into position by hand ... it was a breeze with the new tractor though. New holding paddock - SORTED

17.01.2022 Your best bulls come from your best cows. Welcome Ranger to the herd. Let's see how he develops and if he makes the grade to become a future herd sire.

17.01.2022 It's early in the season and I don't want to jinx anything, but we haven't lost a calf to foxes or wild dogs since Summer started watching over them.

16.01.2022 The sensational pumpkin from our summer harvest. Diced and ready for roasting.

16.01.2022 Look at this beautiful visitor who came tapping at my windows today. Spring is almost here

15.01.2022 What a brilliant example of grass based genetics in a cow. Small frame and a thick body; she will perform without the need for grain and even withstand difficult times like drought.

15.01.2022 Hello spring! We have missed you.

14.01.2022 Very important not to have bare soil especially on hillsides. This is knee-high grass on the steepest hillside on our farm. Very pleased with the response to our grazing management.

13.01.2022 Hay from 2016 - still perfect!

12.01.2022 This is a hoof print filled with water. I have these scattered all along a hillside. When it rains, it's like a mini dam, holding water high in the landscape and hydrating an area that can suffer from run off.

10.01.2022 An update on Eleanor's sore hoof. She's getting more mobile each day which is a good sign. Her body condition is great and oh, yeah, she had her baby calf. WHAT AN ABSOLUTE CHAMPION! Like I said, shes my oldest and best cow. Going to keep mum and bub separate for a while yet, but all looking positive.

10.01.2022 Poor Eleanor has a sore right hoof and couldn't keep up with the herd move yesterday. My oldest and one of the best cows I have. Keeping her separate for now to see how she goes over the next few days.

08.01.2022 When you get busted goofing around and slowly phase back into a somber Livestock Guardian Dog.

08.01.2022 These hoof prints were made by 100 head of cattle saying, 'No thanks!' and turning back on me during a move. Sometimes things just don't go to plan.

07.01.2022 Lumberjack time! This dead Blackwood tree was too close to the house and had to go. The wedge cut wasn't too bad, the back cut was nice and straight ... but the finish was perfect! Straight between the goal posts.

06.01.2022 Not going to lie, moving hay like this is a lot more fun than using my dinky little trailer

06.01.2022 The crazy games the kids play in the chicken house.

06.01.2022 Take a look at these cheeky devils sneaking into the house gardens for a feed. Out you go!

05.01.2022 Beautiful condition on this steer and in winter! The right genetics coupled with the right management truly delivers.

05.01.2022 Loading up on firewood for the week. It's hard work, but on a clear winters day like this, how could anyone complain?

05.01.2022 Orders Now Open! A very limited supply of our Pasture Raised Beef is now available! Each Beef Box is unique, filled with a selection of cuts to cater for your various needs. Deliveries start next week. Small Beef Box (10kg) - $200 Large Beef Box (20kg) - $360 Free home delivery... To place your order email: [email protected]

04.01.2022 Hatching chicks has been a great lesson in patience for the kids and a bunch of fun now that they're here.

04.01.2022 It's Drizabone time! Rain, hail, snow - bring it! I'm covered

03.01.2022 I love my cattle, but gee they piss me off when they play with the float valve!

03.01.2022 Can you believe this growth is on a hillside in winter? It was quite overgrazed when we came here. Slowly but surely, it's coming back.

02.01.2022 This is one of my favourite things about farming. I didn't have to setup a play date or go to a park. I'm working on a fence left of this photo and the kids make their own fun.

02.01.2022 When a 500kg cow stands on your heel. Nothing broken and no blood - really numb though!

02.01.2022 This is all chalk. I'd like to blame it on the dog ... but it was the kids.

02.01.2022 Triplets! These Wiltipol sheep truly are amazing. Very easy care and efficient. This little experiment just got a little more serious.
