19.01.2022 Warning long post. Introducing my latest ‘project partner’, Steve Ayton. It was your commitment, strength and phenomenal spreadsheet skills that got us to the finish line. Washed down with plenty of laughs along the way. We agreed from the start that Goulburn River Fun Run and Shepparton Multi-Sport Weekend was all about moving forward and emerging from under the COVID cloud. Demonstrating to DHHS and Greater Shepparton City Council that with the right plans in place we ca...n operate public safe outdoor events. There are still so many restrictions placed on events when there seems no logic around it compared to other activites. Let’s hope we can keep moving forward and the Shepparton Running Festival in August will thrive. I feel very proud of what we achieved in just over one month, and I was so inspired by the local businesses, community groups and individuals who supported our event and gave up their valuable time to assist even at 5am on Sunday morning. Thanks to everyone who took a call from me, or contacted me direct willing to help, there are too many to mention. If you played a part, big or small in our event please accept my sincere thanks. It takes many hands to make a load light. I don’t have back up singers, but I have back up sisters and I want to send a special thanks to them, they know who they are. Steve, we did a good thing...we gave runners an opportunity to run, we gave clubs a chance to come together, we shone a light on Shepparton and our beautiful lake and Goulburn River, we bought visitors to our city and gave everyone involved a chance to experience a piece of normality and a moment of celebration. Lastly, I could not do what I do without the support of my family and in the background of this photo you will see my Michael (the big fella) who supported me at home but also marshaled all morning and brought his music along to add some atmosphere. Thanks again, I might have a little rest now. See more

16.01.2022 Calling artists of the GV Applications now open for Story Lab: How to share your artist story FREE 6-week program... Course includes 4 x half days & 3 x full days Learn from 4 industry experts Showcase your work, skills & brand Connect with audiences through social media channels Applications close Monday 14th December This past year, the COVID-19 crisis has highlighted the need to deliver on the Festival’s mission in a new way by equipping local artists with the tools and knowledge to become ‘social-distance proof’ and showcase their unique work, skills, and brand through digital platforms. In response to the challenges that artists have faced during the pandemic, we have appointed a team of media experts to develop and deliver a training course that will teach a number of local artists how to effectively communicate and engage through online platforms. We are thrilled to announce a series of workshops called ‘Story Lab: How to share your artist story’. The project is supported by a grant through Creative Victoria and aims to provide artists with storytelling skills to develop ideas, a brand voice, and create engaging video content to share with their online audience through their social media channels. A team of four industry experts have been assembled including a creative producer, writer/director, digital marketing specialist and a videographer. The free six-week face-to-face program will run across February and March 2021, assisting artists to reconnect with their audience, discover their own stories and unlock creative thinking. Up to 10 local artists will be chosen to participate. Applications are now open. To submit an EOI go to www.sheppartonfestival.org.au/story-lab/ Applications close Monday 14th December 2020. This initiative is sponsored by Creative Victoria and The Fairley Foundation #sheppfest #unifysf
