24.01.2022 Welcome to our great news that our shop Yours Now Mine at 321 Doncaster Road, Balwyn has re-opened after approximately 3 months of closure. A lot of work and organising has gone into the running of the shop in view of the Coronavirus outbreak. A stand holding a sanitiser bottle has been installed right in front of the children's wear as we want everybody that enters the shop to use before you start browsing. Distancing is very important and the floor has thus been marked. Be...cause of our shop size we can only have 4 people in the shop at the one time. It may have been quiet frustrating for some potential customers to be asked to wait until they were allowed into the shop. We hope that when asked to wait that you understand our position - we need to be careful in how we deal with the situation at hand. Like all shops we ask you that if you are unwell that you delay entering our shop until you are well. We had a great response to our opening - welcoming back many 'old' faces and many new customers. Our customers were very happy that we had again opened up the doors and congratulated us on our endeavours - their response to our efforts was very heart warming and we hope that we can continue to give of our very best to all. We hope that as many as possible can come and see all our offerings of new stock that has replaced everything that was in the shop before we closed in mid March. Please take care and we hope to see you all soon. Managers, Anna,Betty and Elvira. See more

23.01.2022 Hopefully this posting is reaching all our volunteers and friends of Yours Now Mine Op Shop at 321 Doncaster Road, Balwyn, who are all staying the course in good health and spirit. From our first closure in March of this year we set up a system of contacting each Volunteer whether it be by phone or other means to make sure that we are all doing well. We are happy to say that our contacting of each other has been appreciated by all of us. We know that we are all occupied ...in different ways - walking, sewing, doing craft work and of course cooking - some have expressed the view that they may not fit through our door because of enjoying many foods, including sweet things. They have been assured that when we get back to the shop that the waist line will start to disappear. We must thank all our donors that have not left any donations at our door - respecting our premises - ensuring that the front is always clean and most importantly safe for the people that use the path. As we all know the re-opening of the retail sector is still on hold but when we are able to re-open we will be so pleased to see you all. We are so looking forward to this with great gusto. In the meantime from all of us at the shop take care and stay healthy. Managers - Anna, Betty and Elvira. See more

19.01.2022 Today's post for Yours Now Mine Op Shop at 321 Doncaster Road, North Balwyn, for us is of sadness and of immense gratitude to our customers and donors. We were received with virtual open arms when we opened 2 weeks ago after approximately 3 and 1/2 months closure due to restrictions because of the virus and also keeping in mind the safety of our volunteers and of our customers. Our regular and new customers were so pleased to see us and also to see the new stock that we have... in the shop. We are so grateful to all our donors who continually amaze us with the quality of goods that they bring into the shop. We enjoyed 2 weeks of renewing and forming new friendships with everyone that came into the shop. We thank you for the generosity that has been conveyed to us in our work of helping our Elderly Italians at San Carlo Homes for the Aged in South Morang. We don't know when we will be re-opening and we ask that any donors that they hold onto their donations until we return. From all of us we hope and pray that you all stay well and safe well and remember to keep an eye on our neighbours and friends that may be in need. Anna,Betty and Elvira. See more

17.01.2022 With the easing of Coronavirus restrictions we have been busy at our op shop Yours Now Mine situated at 321 Doncaster Road Balwyn. The painters have finished their work and have been busy re-arranging the work area at the back of the shop. Hopefully this will help to facilitate our work. The clothing, shoes, etc. is all ready for our opening. The machester, crockery and kitchen ware section is still a work in progress. When these areas are finalised we will tackle the fron...t display window and finally the carpet will be cleaned. We are installing sanitisers for our customers to use before they start browsing in the shop and also of course for our volunteers. Notices will be put on the window to inform everybody that enters of the sanitisers, distancing between customers requirements. Also for customers to understand that anybody that desires to enter the shop that if they are unwell or have coughs and colds if they would delay their visit. This is really for the safety of all who will be in the shop. We do ask for your understanding. With the opening of the shop customers will be amazed at the quality of the goods that will be offered to the astute buyers. We are showing some photos of our volunteers taken over time. With the long week end please enjoy the time but take care. Managers - Anna - Betty and Elvira. See more

13.01.2022 Just to follow on to my recent post with photos for Yours Now Mine Op Shop at 321 Doncaster Road, Balwyn we are adding some more photos of our Volunteers.

06.01.2022 It's been a while since we posted a message from Yours Now Mine Op Shop and hopefully this posting will find us in good health. The lockdown has given many of us the opportunity to do things that we have put aside and keeping in touch with family and friends on a more regular basis. Our volunteers have been doing lots of different things to keep themselves occupied. As 'heads' of families we have been doing much more cooking-connecting with other volunteers on a regular bas...is and sharing our feelings and thoughts-making sure that we are all OK. Our knitter has been very busy making goods that will be sold at the shop. One of our volunteer's has been making masks for family and friends and also donating them to charities that have been giving them to people in need. So on many different fronts we are still practising the spirit of volunteering. We are all so looking forward to be back at the shop, so that we can see and speak to each other - much better than the phone. With times on our hands we have gone through some photos and we know that some have already been on our site - hopefully they will bring back good memories and not bore too many of us. The posted photos include a couple of ladies that have retired but they are still a special part of our volunteers. We thank all of these ladies for their strong contribution to our Spirit of Volunteering. Also a photo of Padre Vito and the nuns at San Carlo on a day that we volunteers were invited by the San Carlo CEO Rhonda Joiner, to see the new extension and the furbishing of these units which was paid for by the money raised in our op shop. One would have to agree that our funds are put to great use in giving comfort and dignity to our elderly Italians in care. Take are and stay safe. Anna,Betty and Elvira. See more
