17.01.2022 ReefRelief will start next Monday with virtual classes on Facebook Live! 10:30 AM EST Things to know:... -Each lesson is geared towards students in preK through 8th grade but, anyone is welcome to join, participate, and enjoy! -We will post a schedule on which topics we will be covering a few days before the lessons (listed below for next week). -We would like these lessons to be as interactive as possible, while our live videos are streaming, please do not hesitate to ask questions in the comments section below the video! -All lessons and supplemental materials including activities, videos, and lesson outlines will be posted on our website blog. The post for lesson 1 can be found here: https://www.reefrelief.org//lesson-1-ecosystems-and-food-/ *Please check out the blog posts a few days prior to each lesson as there will be worksheets, videos, and optional activity supplies you may want to collect before each live lesson. We will be referring to some of these materials (especially the worksheets) throughout our live videos.* *All supplemental materials are totally optional! We want this to be fun and stress free. For example, if you do not have a printer, have you child draw our worksheets on a separate piece of paper. If an activity requires tape or glue and you do not have these materials, skip that activity and just listen and watch!* -Can't make a lesson? Don't worry, all lessons will be uploaded and saved to our Facebook and Youtube pages (www.youtube.com/reefrelief) In the meantime, please let us know if you have any questions and we will see you on Monday!

05.01.2022 SHARED FROM A POST ‘Arguing with your kids to do work is not what anyone needs right now. Instead, cuddle up together and read, read, read. Take turns reading. Read them your favourite novel (yes, you can read novels to small children). Do a puzzle. Build a fort. Bake. Watch TV together. Paint. Get out the lego and build together. Set up a tent in your living room and camp out. Look at photos of when you were a kid. In other words... Don’t stress about them forgett...ing. Don’t stress about homeschooling them. Just spend time together. Your kids won’t learn much if they’re feeling stressed. Though this is a scary time, it could very well be a time they remember as the best time in their life.’ And if you work full time, as I do, balance with screens, that way you both get to work. X
