13.01.2022 Happy Valentines Day! Did you know that St Valentine married couples in secret, in defiance of the ruling Roman emperor? I’m happy to create that secret feeling with a small elopement ceremony or give a big public acknowledgment in defiance of the Romans- whatever you want - it’s your day, your way! So, if one, or both, of you get on bended knee today, give me a call to make your ceremony just as special!

05.01.2022 Ready for Wedding #2 today. A local one, and just as special as #1. I get so much joy out of helping people enjoy their wedding days!

04.01.2022 As we head into wedding season, I thought it would be a great time to revisit why you pay what you pay for a celebrant for your wedding. I often get cold calls where the only question asked is how much does it cost? Celebrants can cost anywhere between $400 and $1500, depending on location, experience and time of the year. In comparison, a Perth registry wedding costs $390.00, is ‘legals only’ with a little bit of personalization, no rehearsal and up to 30 people only. B...ring your own CD/USB to your allotted time and be out in 20 minutes. This might suit someone down to the ground! A celebrant led wedding involves pre-meetings to personalize and write your ceremony, as much or as little contact as you need (often more contact as the date gets closer), all of the legal paperwork, options for unusual times, dates and locations, options for rituals such as sand ceremonies, readings or hand fasting, or including your children or animals. On average this involves between 15-30 hours of work and travel. At $600 for 15 hours, that’s $40/hour minimum, but most celebrants do more hours. Celebrants have paid between $1500 and $2500 to train to know the legalities of marriage, they then often purchase a $2000 PA system to provide a high quality ceremony sound and they must buy the certificates that you sign to make your marriage legal. Every year, they must pay for and complete 5 hours of ongoing professional learning and pay $240 to the Attorney General’s Department to remain registered. I hope this helps clarify why you’ll be charged what you’re charged. It’s a highly personalized service, but it’s also the one service you can’t be legally married without! My time as a celebrant has been amazing so far and each couple I have worked with, and am working with, are inspiring, funny, loving and so, so unique. Their stories are so individual and I get live and re-live the joy of a happy wedding day, over and over! I think this makes me incredibly lucky to be a celebrant and so excited to be a part of the day of any couple who work with me! Thanks for reading!

03.01.2022 This wedding was so much fun. I genuinely enjoyed being a part of it and feel so grateful that I was able to join these two legends together on their big day. Thank you Murray & Breanna DeAngelis Photo credit: Yoram Conradt Photography

03.01.2022 As the final hours of 2020 gently while themselves away, I find myself reflecting on the year that has gone by: Tamara & Chris Tracey & Peter Thias & Corinna... Megan & Jamie Mick & Sandy Jocelyn & Kim 12 names that have forever forged a special place in my heart and my mind. 6 unique and special ceremonies. Thank you for allowing me to be a part of your special days, I appreciated every minute that I spent with you and on your weddings. I am looking forward to working with my 2020 and 2021 couples, and on future ceremonies yet to come. Celebrancy has been an absolutely delightful way to spend my ‘spare’ time and I can’t wait to continue into the new year and beyond! Happy New Year to all my clients, past, present and future! I hope that 2020 delivers everything you dream of. Nat x.
