25.01.2022 The easier and more 'comfortable' option would be to do what we've always done, but as the saying goes "If you always do what you've always done, you'll always get what you've always got". [Henry Ford]. You deserve to live a full and happy life. Will remaining in your 'comfort' zone allow you to experience this? Is now the time to say 'ENOUGH' and make a firm decision to change the trajectory of your life? ... Only you know the answer.

24.01.2022 Letting go of food rules and a specific number on the scale is essential in order to experience food peace. When we try to control what, when, and how much we eat in order to be the smallest version of ourselves, we become obsessed with food. I believe that eating what our body is truly asking for regardless of whether this may lead to an increase in weight, is the only way to experience food peace.

23.01.2022 2021 is just around the corner! The new year is notorious for many people going on diets with the goal of reaching their desired weight. As I’m sure you’re well aware, diets don’t work over the long term, as the sacrifices that a person needs to make in order to lose weight is too extreme to maintain. How about instead of making weight loss goals in 2021, you focus on creating sustainable health and fitness habits? Our bodies are self-regulating. We don’t to force our ...body to be a specific weight or size, as it’s perfecting capable of maintaining a healthy weight all on its own, without our interference. Our job is to feed our body nutritious food, move our body in ways that feel good, get enough sleep (at least 7 hours per night), drink enough water (at least 2L per day), and control our stress levels. Doing these things on a daily basis is what will enable your body to thrive and settle at a weight that it feels the healthiest at. See more

21.01.2022 Life is just too precious to spend another moment at war with yourself. Forgive yourself for the mistakes that you’ve made. Let them go. Accept yourself for the person that you’ve been created to be your inner qualities, skills, giftings and quirks. ... Like who you are. Enjoy spending time with yourself. And maybe just maybe one day you will be able to say that you love who you are. It starts with forgiveness. Are you ready to become the best version of you?

21.01.2022 Some healthy breakfast recipes to try...

21.01.2022 Providing your body with healthy and nutritious food and moving your body in ways that feel good are actions within your control. If healthy behaviours have not been been your default lifestyle, this doesn't mean that you can't begin to make some small changes. Swapping chocolate for fruit, having grilled instead of deep fried meat, or perhaps drinking a glass of water before you reach for the chips (you may be confusing hunger for thirst) are small ways that you can take car...e of your body. Over time, these small changes will come together and become your natural way of life.

21.01.2022 Your body is so wise. It knows exactly what it needs in order to thrive. You don't need to rely on an external source to tell you what your body needs.... No generic diet plan is right for every BODY. Listen to your body. Follow your body's inner promptings. This might mean 3 large meals or perhaps it means 6 smaller meals dispersed throughout the day. Perhaps your body thrives on a high carb style of eating. Someone else may feel their best when they include a lot of protein. You're the only person who knows what's right for you.

20.01.2022 Have you longed for something to change in your life for a long time, but it just hasn’t happened? Have you reached a point of helplessness and hopelessness? Are you starting to wonder whether maybe this is as good as it’s ever going to get? Even though you might be feeling miserable, this way of being is familiar, so you settle for how things have always been. The truth is that if we want things to change, we have to do things differently. We have to think different tho...ughts and do different actions. Yes, these thoughts and actions are unfamiliar; perhaps even scary, but they’re necessary in order for things to be different. Are you ready for a breakthrough? Is it time to let go of the familiar and embrace the new? You can do it! If you’re needing some support as you navigate this period, feel free to reach out to me via PM.

19.01.2022 The thing about achieving any goal in life is that a firm commitment made today combined with repeated action can completely transform your life in a matter of months. The secret is to rely on your commitment; not the feeling of motivation. For most people (including myself), we get so excited in the early stages of a new goal and feel highly motivated, but then as the days go on, our motivation begins to wane. It doesn’t matterwe need to do the actions anyway that will move us towards the life we want to live. Repeated action is the key!

16.01.2022 Just tried the Beyond Simply Grill'd Burger. One word - DELICIOUS! #grilld #vegetarianburger

16.01.2022 So many of us spend so much time focusing on all of our body's 'flaws', when we should be thanking it for everything that it enables us to do. I'm waiting for the day when there's a complete paradigm shift in society where there is less focus on eating and exercising to lose weight, and more focus on nourishing and moving our body so that it can feel its best. There is no specific 'look' for what a healthy body should look like.... Every person's body is unique to them. If we nourish our body with healthy and satisfying foods and move our body in enjoyable ways, it will evolve into the size and shape that it thrives at. My encouragement to you is to let go of full length mirrors, let go of scales, and let go of a specific clothing size. Just let your body do its thing and go and live your one and only precious life without the obsession!

14.01.2022 Compassion it’s a behaviour that we can so freely display towards others but struggle so much to demonstrate towards ourselves. Why not, even just for this moment, have compassion for yourself. Be kind. ... Be gentle. You’re doing the best you can. You are enough exactly as you are.

12.01.2022 Do you find that you get locked in memories of the past? Do you mourn what could have been? How about fears of the future? Does this keep you awake at night? When our days are filled with thoughts relating to our past or future, it’s impossible for us to fully enjoy the present because we’re haunted by our past memories and/or future fears. The present is where life is happening. We can make the present an enjoyable place to be simply by choosing to fully show up, rig...ht here, right now, in this very moment. A great tool to become fully present is by focusing on each of our senses, one at a time: What can you see? What can you hear? What can you touch? What can you smell? What can you taste? Focusing on our senses grounds us to the present moment and allows us to separate from our past and/or future based thoughts.

12.01.2022 Are you going to choose to make 2021 a year of transformation? What's the greatest vision that you have for your life when it comes to your health and fitness? What are you going to do differently in order to make this vision a reality?... Share your goals in the comments below! I'd love to support and encourage you as you embark on this journey of transformation.

12.01.2022 What is your relationship like with your body? Do you constantly berate yourself for all of its perceived ‘flaws’? Do you avoid mirrors because you despise what your body looks like? Do you have multiple clothing sizes in your cupboard ‘just in case’ one day you’re able to fit into your smaller clothes again? Poor body image is a huge issue for so many of us. Thankfully I’ve come a long way towards accepting my body. For many years I forced myself to maintain a weight ...that was far below my natural set point weight. If I gained even the smallest amount of weight, I would immediately go into ‘fix it’ mode in order to rectify the situation. I reached a point several years ago where I’d had enough, and I allowed my body to discover its healthy place. The way that I’ve been able to accept my changing size and shape was by practicing embodiment. This involved becoming fully present in my body and appreciating it for what it enabled me to do, rather than judging it for what it looked like. I began to wear clothes that suited my more feminine shape. I did grounding activities that helped me to become more fully present in my body such as stretching and body weight movements. My body right now may not be the size and shape that it will be next year, and that’s okay. My body is not an ornament, it’s an instrument that enables me to live my best life.

11.01.2022 There is no such thing as a perfect weight or perfect body. Our happiness is not dependent on a certain body size. Embrace healthy behaviours and let your body decide its happy place.

10.01.2022 The thoughts we think can either empower us to live our life to our fullest potential or cause us to retreat and keep ourselves small. Once we make peace with our mind, and our whole life will change.

10.01.2022 Are you the type of person who constantly jumps to worst case scenario? What ifhappens? How would I handle . happening? ... I’m not strong enough to handle I want to let you know that you are much stronger than you give yourself credit for. Whatever happens in your life, you will be able to handle it. When we cast our minds into the future and worry about what ‘may’ happen, it causes us to feel highly anxious and prevents us from experiencing all of the wonderful things that are happening in our lives in the present. My encouragement to you today is to tell yourself Whatever happens, I will be able to handle it! and then go about your day.

08.01.2022 Vulnerable post time I’m struggling at the moment with quite a dilemmaI’m a personal trainer who helps women to reach and maintain their healthiest weight AND I believe that a person can be healthy even if they are classified as ‘overweight’! What a conundrum! I’m at a point in my life where I’ve actually had enough of restriction/labelling food as ‘good’ or ‘bad’/saying no when I really want to say yes/feeling guilty for what I’ve eaten/feeling that I need to make up... for my eating ‘mistakes’doing all of these things to maintain a socially acceptable body size and shape. We are more than our bodies! Our bodies enable us to do the things we love connect with our loved ones, pursue our passions, follow our purpose We waste so much of our lives thinking that thinness = health, happiness and fulfilment when in fact it’s healthy behaviours that create this. We are all so unique, just like our personalities/talents/ temperament/skills are different, so are our bodies. Instead of focussing on what our bodies look like, why don’t we focus on looking after our bodies so that they can continue to thrive right into our twilight years! ‘Underweight’, ‘Overweight’, ‘Normal Weight’whatever the labelyou are worthy and valuable whatever size and shape you are.

05.01.2022 Wise advice on letting go of the past...

04.01.2022 The benefits of exercise are numerous...

04.01.2022 If you struggle with anxiety, identifying and then challenging your thoughts can be an effective way to move towards situations that you usually avoid. One thought processing method that I use with my clients is: State the situation. Identify your negative feelings about the situation. Identify your negative thoughts about the situation.... Create a balanced thought one that is true, helpful, kind, and encouraging. Identify your values. Choose an action that aligns with your values while reminding yourself of your balanced thought. If your negative thoughts and feelings continue to show up, don’t fight them, just allow them to be there while you continue to state your balanced thought and move towards your values.

02.01.2022 Do you find it hard to get motivated to start and then maintain an exercise routine? Here are some tips that might help: 1. Find a form of movement that you genuinely enjoy This may be vastly differently than the form of movement you did years ago. When I was younger, I was a marathon runner. I would go for daily 1 hour+ runs. I found this quite effortless and my body was more than capable of handling the constant pounding on the roads. In stark contrast, these days w...henever I attempt to run, my body finds it way too stressful. I find running very jarring on my body and I don’t enjoy it at all. My preference is walking, going on the exercise bike or rowing machine, boxing, resistance training, kettlebell workouts, and body weight circuits. This form of movement makes me feel fit, strong and flexible. As the years go on, the form of movement I enjoy and that my body is able to handle may change, but for now, these are my preferences. How about youwhat form of movement do you enjoy? If you haven’t discovered anything that you like yet, why not try some different styles of fitness You Tube videos. Here’s some that you might like to try Sydney Cummings Caroline Girvan POPSUGAR Fitness Fitness Blender Boho Beautiful Yoga with Adrienne Blogilates 2. Just start with 10 minutes per day Sometimes when we set the bar too high; such as telling ourselves that anything less than a 30 minute workout is a waste of time, just results in doing no movement at all. In my opinion, anything is better than nothing. Start small and then build up the length and intensity of your workouts from there. The goal is to get into the routine of daily movement, no matter how short the workout is. 3. Find a workout partner or accountability person I’m a morning workout kind of person, and I enjoy working out by myself before my family wakes up. Doing movement later in the day is a real struggle for me. My teenage daughters ARE NOT morning exercisers. If we want to do a workout together, the only time of day that works for them is the afternoons. In the holidays, this is a form of connection between my daughters and I, so I commit to doing a few workout videos with them each week. Even though it’s a struggle for me, the fact that we’re committed to doing the workouts together through until completion keeps me going. Is there someone who you could do your workouts with? If not, is there someone who you could be accountable to? #yourwellbeingcollective #movement #fitnesstips #workoutideas

01.01.2022 Recently I’ve started a morning journaling practice that takes me less than 10 mins. I ask myself the following questions: What am I thinking? What am I feeling? What’s working well?... What are my challenges? Who do I need to be today? I then write out a list of affirmations that align with the best version of myself AKA the me I want to become. As I go throughout my day, I already know what I need to say yes to and what I need to say no to because I’ve already visualised what the best version of myself would do.
