24.01.2022 So proud to have been successful with a community grant for our idea to refurbish this great space spearheaded by Rosano with the fantastic team from HopeStreet Inner City at 130 Dowling Street. Its important to empower our youth and see dormant sites being reactivated for use as safe and creative spaces for them and as an extension, families in Woolloomooloo. Thank you to all at BaptistCare, especially Glen, Tina, and Anne (in the pic) and thank you to our fantastic local MP Alex Greenwich for joining us at the official launch.

21.01.2022 So great to distribute these creative and educational Art packs from our community partner Art Gallery of New South Wales to the kids that participated in the Raw program with Maya Sheridan-Martinez. Looking forward to more great projects with the Gallery, meanwhile these budding little artists can put their Art skills into practice!

20.01.2022 Was so great to be a part of the Art Gallery of New South Wales distribution of Artpacks to our RAW kids program participants headed up by Maya Sheridan-Martinez through this Covid lockdown period. The packs were really well received and was great to get the kids off the devices and helping the sanity of mum and dad at home.

19.01.2022 Last session of the 10 session women’s boxing squad done!! Lead by the one and only Boxing legend and local hero Nate Carroll who was there for us every morning ready at 6.30am, quite literally, rain, hail or shine. This program was much more than just boxing, it was a place to meet new friends, a place of healing and was a fantastic time to spend quality time with women in the neighbourhood. What made it even more special was to have one of our strong young local men really be there for the women in our village. Looking forward for the next one!

19.01.2022 With Covid, our youth RAW art programs with our oldest Woolloomooloo Working Group partner Art Gallery of New South Wales, and our friends at Artspace have been on hold. Although we're still getting Art packs out to Families and young ones in our community, we are looking forward to getting back to face to face sessions when restrictions are lifted. We are so proud of being a part of spearheading these great collaborations between our local service providers and so proud of our school kids from Plunkett Street Public School with their artworks up front and centre outside the gallery! https://www.facebook.com/watch/?v=368920044296942

18.01.2022 A BIG thank you to Matia and Alessandro at Vizio Caffe e Cucina on William St for sponsoring our Women Of Woolloomooloo (WOW) Community Gospel Choir morning tea with their mouth watering pastries. If you're in the city, its a great place to eat so do check it out and support our local businesses who support community!

18.01.2022 Midway through last year Plunkett Street Public School applied for a community grant to upgrade their dilapidated playground. Regrettably they were unsuccessful. Shortly thereafter, whilst walking through the neighbourhood with Russell Crowe to replenish the nets at the basketball courts as they often do, YFC General Manager Rosano mentioned the disappointing news to the global superstar. Russell immediately offered to help - and to his credit but not surprisingly, it was on ...the condition he was to be an anonymous benefactor. This request speaks volumes about the character of this special community member and his wish to do his bit quietly and without fanfare. Although we managed to keep it a secret for so long, sorry Russell, but we’re outing you! We believe you deserve the full acknowledgement and gratitude of our close knit village and the larger community. We would like to say A BIG WOOLLO THANK YOU from the bottom of our hearts for your ongoing support of our community members, events, and initiatives. It is hugely appreciated and we would like to wish you continued happiness and success with all you do. Sincerely and with much love, Woolloomooloo
