24.01.2022 Chaplains from the Armadale and Gosnells area hosted a stall a St Andrew’s Church in Thornlie for their Christmas Bazaar where part proceeds will be donated to YouthCARE. They caught up with long-time friends and members of the Armadale and Gosnells YouthCARE Councils Pastor Bill Mitting and Reverend Richard Minol. They were also privileged to hear tenor Joshua Mitting and the church choir sing live. St Andrew’s Church has been a long-time supporter of YouthCARE and their chaplains (pictured)

23.01.2022 This week we held an Appreciation Afternoon Tea for The City Of Bayswater to acknowledge the ongoing support of chaplaincy in the local area. Mayor Dan Bull spoke on the positive impact he has seen chaplaincy have in schools and the essential work our chaplains do in building community. The afternoon tea was attended by the local chaplains, principals' and school staff.

22.01.2022 Since 2011, Chaplain Rhonda at Mosman Park Primary School and Mosman Park School For Deaf Children has organised a motivational speaker and brunch to wrap up their "You Can Do It" program. Every year she finds new and interesting speakers, who have overcome a variety of challenges and injuries to go on and achieve against incredible odds. This year Area Chaplain Martin came down from Geraldton to share his story of overcoming, persevering, and having resilience!

22.01.2022 What a pair! Chaplains Linda and Kim joined in the fun at their school's faction carnival at East Kimberley College. Linda as Mary Poppins and Kim as Dice Man!



21.01.2022 On Saturday the annual Chaplathon was held at Carine Open Space. Six YouthCARe Councils and Support Networks were involved and raised over $9,000 for chaplaincy in the local area. This years trophy for highest fundraiser went to the Carine/Scarborough/Duncraig YouthCARE Council!

21.01.2022 This week Cake Date in Morley is donating 50cents from every coffee sold towards YouthCARE school chaplaincy services. Today some of our senior management team dropped by to thank Nadia and purchase a coffee and some delicious baked goods!

20.01.2022 The Gingin YouthCARE Council recently hosted an event to thank outgoing members for their years of service! Special mention goes to Barry for 20 years of service, Annette the Council Secretary for 10 years of service, and Rev Peggy and Brian for their service since 2016. We are so grateful for the many hundreds of volunteers that make up our 79 YouthCARE Councils across the state!

20.01.2022 Chaplain’s Bec and Sam where invited to share at St Stephens Uniting Church Applecross this weekend. The chaplains shared some of the wonderful things they are doing in their schools and what they are grateful for. We are so grateful for their continued support within our schools in the local area. St Stephen’s congregation presented the Area Chaplain Natasha with collected stationary to be distributed to the chaplains to share out to their communities.

19.01.2022 Hundreds of items of food, toiletries and gifts have been donated by Comet Bay College staff, students and families to bring Christmas cheer to families facing hardship this festive season. The annual Christmas drive was coordinated by College Chaplain Teresa Millard and Student Support staff, and will give four local families something to smile about when delivered this week.

19.01.2022 This week our CEO Stanley and Area Chaplain Natasha gathered at Shenton College with their Principal Mike and College Captains Oliver and Bianca to thank the Mayor of Nedlands, Cilla de Lacy for the City's valuable contribution to school chaplaincy at the College for over 10 years!

18.01.2022 YouthCARE Chaplain Rhonda has a post box at Hollywood Primary School which was created by some of the students. When Rhonda is not at the school, students write her letters and post them in the box for Rhonda to follow up on when she returns!

18.01.2022 This year Chaplain Eden at Poynter Primary School participated with a team in the Cancer Council WA Relay For Life! Their team was called "The Poynt Of It' and they raised the highest total of funds this year at over $11,000!

17.01.2022 Special shout out to Ray and Roz from Bakers Junction Roadhouse near Albany who offers free coffee to all our YouthCARE chaplains to keep them going throughout the day!

15.01.2022 We are always blown away by the support we receive from the community. At Mullewa DHS, they recently received a much-needed freezer from Mitchell and Brown Retravision and GIVIT. This freezer will be used to store over 100 cheese sandwiches, donated from EatUp, to be used for the weekly school Breakfast Club

14.01.2022 What an incredible week we had last week at our annual Chaplaincy Formation! It's always a great time for our chaplains from across the state to come together, hear vision for the year from CEO Stanley and listen to some encouraging words from key speakers Pastor Gerard Keehan from Globalheart Church, Minister for Education and Training Sue Ellery MLC (complete with annual selfie!), Director General Lisa Rodgers, and Donna Faragher MLC!

11.01.2022 Chaplain Matt from Duncraig Senior High School had the opportunity to attend the year 11 outdoor education canoeing camp in Dwellingup. The water was cold, the fire was hot and it was a great opportunity for Matt to build relationships with the students in a different setting!

09.01.2022 That’s 1,430 meals a DAY! Breakfast Clubs set students up for a great day at school with a full tummy and new friends!

09.01.2022 Our CEO Stanley is currently driving around the south-west coast, visiting chaplains in the Esperance region. This week he caught up with Chaplain Roger who is in three schools in the area. He was able to see Roger in action, making marionettes with students!

07.01.2022 Supporters from the Balga Girrawheen area recently got together at Encounter City Church to catch up and share chaplaincy stories and hear how the different church representatives managed during COVID; it was a great time of encouragement!

06.01.2022 We currently have over 20 of our Pastoral Critical Incident Response (PCIR) team chaplains deployed at emergency evacuation centers across the Perth North East area for the recent devastating fires. Our chaplains are providing pastoral care to residents who have lost their homes and helping distribute resources that have been donated. Governor Kim Beazley (pictured) visited the Swan Active Beechboro to show his support as well!

06.01.2022 Chaplain Stephen Hurley at Kelmscott senior Highschool has been working with a teacher to organise food donations towards the Crossways Christmas food appeal. 70 classes of students were invited to donate food to families that were in need. Kelmscott Senior High School has raised enough food to fill 12 bins for a fantastic cause!

05.01.2022 Today Area Chaplain Natasha and Chaplain Katie presented Jodee from Town of Cottesloe with a certificate, acknowledging the generous support we have received from the Town towards chaplaincy services in three schools in the Cottesloe area. We are so grateful for our local governments and the partnerships we build with them to better support communities!

05.01.2022 At Halls Creek District High School's Sports Carnival, Chaplain Jerome and the Positive Behaviour Support Committee gave out 'Caught Ya' cards to students to acknowledge their good behaviour. Things like picking up rubbish, cheering for their team and lining up appropriately were rewarded with the cards which then earned points for the student's faction. A great idea!

05.01.2022 YouthCARE chaplains recently attended a combined church event held at St Margaret's in Nedlands. The event saw the community and churches come together to celebrate and raise funds towards chaplaincy services in the local area!

04.01.2022 Our CVE team recently went to Kojonup to train up 8 new volunteers to run the Treasure Hunters program at Kojonup District High School! The team went through the curriculum, game ideas, and how to engage students. The volunteers are starting in the high school in term 4

03.01.2022 In Esperance, CVE Field Officer Christy thanked the CRE team at Castletown Primary School with a well deserved (and very fun) lunch celebration. This amazing team is making a big difference in the school community by volunteering at YouthCARE, and is part of our 30+ year CRE service at Castletown Primary! We greatly thank them for their support.

03.01.2022 Chaplain Dani at Cue Primary School has been loving giving out her "chaplaincy awards" to students throughout the term. "It's usually something quirky like 'the keen bean award' or the 'funniest man alive' award and I write a few encouraging words on the certificates as well, telling the students what I love about their personality!"

02.01.2022 Last week we held a Coffee Fundraiser at Rosies Soapbox Cafe in Rockingham and for the entire week, 50 cents from every coffee sold went towards YouthCARE chaplaincy services in the area. They raised over $200! Cafe owner Wendy and Manager Brian presented Area Chaplain Mel with a cheque today. We appreciate all the support we received this week from local MLAs and MPs, the Mayor, school staff, and parents who came into the cafe to purchase a coffee!

01.01.2022 Last night was the Annual Moora Bed Race, celebrating their 20th year! YouthCARE Central Office had a team who competed, with Central Midlands Senior High School winning the race! The race raises funds for YouthCARE school chaplaincy in the area and this year over $13,000 was raised. We're so grateful for the community that supports so many valued chaplains.
