17.01.2022 On Friday 20th of November, we celebrated YFCC's 40th Birthday !! 40 years of service for a community organisation is a huge milestone and it is one we were very proud to celebrate and share with those who have supported and engaged with us over the last 40 years. 17.01.2022 Today marks the beginning of NAIDOC Week 2020! It's a significant time to celebrate Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures, histories and achievements. It's also an opportunity for everyone in Australia to reflect on and make a priority the social and emotional wellbeing of Indigenous Australians. Whilst the week is usually celebrated in July, the organising committee made the unprecedented decision to move the official NAIDOC week celebrations to November, to protect elders and those in the community with chronic health issues, from the impacts of COVID. This year’s theme - Always Was, Always Will Be - recognises that First Nations people have occupied and cared for this continent for over 65,000 years.
