21.01.2022 Celebrate NAIDOC Week at the Botanic Gardens with the screening of Bran Nue Dae. The film has been described as 'Aboriginal Pride, With Jazz Hands'. Starring Er...nie Dingo, Jessica Mauboy, Dan Sultan, Geoffrey Rush and Magda Szubanski. It's one of those films that literally bursts onto the screen with unbridled energy and fun. Loosely based on one of Australia's most beloved and popular musicals, Bran Nue Dae is a foot-stomping tour-de-force centering on the romantic adventures of a young aboriginal couple set against the spectacularly beautiful Australian landscape. - Sat Nov 14 - 7:30pm - Cairns Botanic Gardens - BYO picnic or The Samosa Hub will be there - Ticket link in the comments section

08.01.2022 !! ONLINE SCREENING !! OUR STORY: WATERWAY WARRIORS PREMIERING MONDAY 21 OCT, 6:30PM... GRAB YOUR POPCORN AND JOIN THE SHOW We are a community of Waterway Warriors, and TONIGHT we are sharing with you Our Story. We want you to join us and be a part of this community movement to care and act for our waters here in Cairns. Through our story we will show you that it takes a whole community of ordinary people acting in many different ways to protect and care for our streams, rivers, wetlands and estuaries. We know how important our waterway systems are for biodiversity, flood mitigation, and the health and safety of our community. The sustainability of these systems and keeping our waters healthy is a shared responsibility between government, groups, and everyday people. Yet there is a misconception that our urban waterways are solely the responsibility of a single body, Council, rather than the collective efforts of our community. We want to change this, and that's why we are sharing our story so you can see what we get up to, get involved and become a Waterway Warrior too!
