25.01.2022 A cool morning greeted our parkrunners today, we welcomed 32 participants, 7 of which were first timers to the You Yangs, and four participants achieved a PB - congratulations to Ben, Jodie, Christine and Rebecca. A big thank you to our wonderful volunteers - Bill, Zara, Hugh, Rebecca, and Steve, without volunteers we have not parkrun. Unfortunately we have no photos today as we did not have anyone volunteer.
24.01.2022 Sadly all parkruns Australia-wide are cancelled for March.
24.01.2022 The latest update from parkrun is now live at http://parkrun.me/covid19. A decision will be made by Wednesday with regards to future parkrun events, which will be notified via the parkrun Australia website, and any updates will be posted on this page.
22.01.2022 Results have now processed, congratulations to Ed, Steve, James, Josie and Jeanette in their PB’s today and welcome to 13 visitors to You Yangs. In total we had 51 runners, joggers and walkers today - well done to everyone - every day is PB day.
21.01.2022 Update - parkrun continues to be suspended until the end of June at a minimum. It is expected that closures will be in place for longer. Please be reassured that the safety and welfare of volunteers and participants is primary to all decisions, and reopening of events will only happen when it is safe for all parkrun events to open in any given region.
17.01.2022 Some photos of today’s parkrun.
17.01.2022 Update: parkrun Australia has extended the closure until the end of April at least. I know we are all missing parkrun, but it is important to minimise the impact of the COVID-19. Further updates will be posted to this page. Stay safe.
16.01.2022 Update: parkrun continue to monitor the COVID-19 situation, following country-specific guidelines very closely and remain committed to opening parkrun events as soon as appropriate. All factors are taken into account regarding the decision to re-open including local health advice, operational impacts and potential consequences for volunteers and event teams. At the moment all parkrun countries remain closed until the end of April, however it is highly likely that they will also remain closed through May at a minimum.
16.01.2022 Apart from a photographer, we have a full roster for this Saturday. No fancy camera required, the one on your phone will do an awesome job, and you will be working with other awesome vollies - if you have what it takes, please comment below
16.01.2022 A cool and overcast morning greeted us today for International Women’s Day, with many runners wearing purple. A big thank you to our awesome volunteers: Rebekah, Anne, Megan, Helen, Bill and Steve, without our volunteers we have no parkrun. Results will be delayed this morning as we work through some discrepancies.
16.01.2022 COVID-19 update: parkrun have advised that events will continue to be suspended until at least the end of May. At this stage there is no way of predicting when events will be re-opened, with many factors to be taken into account. parkrun wish to reassure participants that the health advice of individual countries will be taken into account when looking at re-opening events as well as the health and safety of event teams, volunteers and participants.
15.01.2022 A reminder that from this Saturday, we will be phasing out the barcode binder, please take your barcode out of the book when you have your finish token scanned, then take it home with you and not return it to the binder. Just remember to bring it with you each week, or invest in one of the options available via your parkrun login such as wrist band or disc. Also, please take this opportunity when taking home your barcode, to ensure it is the most up to date version that includes your emergency contact details.
14.01.2022 All parkrun events in Australia and New Zealand have been suspended with immediate effect due to the ongoing COVID-19 (Coronavirus) situation. At this stage we have cancelled events up to the end of March. Please follow our communications channels for ongoing updates. parkrun’s global position is published and will be updated here.
10.01.2022 We missed you all this morning! This is how one UK Run Director is getting her parkrun fix, complete with a tailwalker! Perhaps you walked or ran 5 km at 8 am somewhere else, or maybe you're planning to do a freedom run with one or two others on a different day/time? Tell us about your social-distancing Clayton's parkrun (the parkrun you have when you can't have parkrun) this weekend!
09.01.2022 Regular attendees will most likely have their barcode stored in our barcode folder. For a number of reasons we have decided to no longer use this system and participants will be required to bring their barcode each time they visit us. There are a couple of options available: use your printed barcode laminated so it stays nice; buy a silicon wristband or a tag for your keychain/shoelace online via your parkrun profile page. Over the coming weeks participants will be reminded of this change.
08.01.2022 We promise once all this is over, however long it takes, we will be back. We will walk, jog, run & volunteer together again Thanks in no small part to the ong...oing financial support of our partners, we will return Please share to show your appreciation Medibank Blackmores The Athlete's Foot Eukanuba Australia Sport Australia #loveparkrun

04.01.2022 As COVID-19 continues to be in our community, parkrun continues to be suspended, with no return able to be determined at this stage. As you would all know from your email updates, parkrun will only return when it is safe for all volunteers and participants to take part. parkrun will continue to keep all participants informed of ongoing status.
03.01.2022 Hello parkrunners, we have received the attached information regarding Coronavirus and have shared it to reassure participants that parkrun take this outbreak seriously and are following advice from the World Health Organisation. At this stage the You Yangs parkrun is unaffected, but any changes will be notified via this page.
