18.01.2022 Hi Im Yovanka Loria, I just wanted to take a moment to introduce my self since I don't post lots about myself Ive been a hairdresser since I was 15 years old and dreamed about doing hair since I was 5 years old. I opened my salon a little over 2 years ago, I was a one man show in the beginning and a salon name just seemed cheesy to me at the time.... Yovanka Loria felt like it was just me, totally real. Im glad that I listened to that voice saying - just be yourself. The thing I didnt know at the time was by being myself the right people started to show up. I worked by myself for a few months and then all the fun began building my team from one to six. I hated my name growing up, got teased for it and never felt comfortable in the spotlight, I still find it difficult and prefer being behind the scenes. I am insanely private, really low key. So, now seeing my name as my brand kinda freaks me out! Trusting the process has really created the right kind of momentum in my life, when you dont follow anyones rules and honour your authentic self you really start doing your best work! I have the most amazing and supportive (and hot Russian) husband in the world, our son is 11 years old, my daughter is 9, both are sweet, funny and the best souls I know. I'm a creature of habit, love PIZZA and prefer staying in with my fam, at heart I'm a complete introvert living in an extrovert world. 15.01.2022 ? This was such an important journey for me when I was choosing a supplier for my extensions. Have you heard of Russian, European or Slavic Hair? Did you know that is just clever marketing to suck in the consumers. I have worked with and tried every single one of the above and even bought into the hype at one time, but believe me it isn't all true.... The main global source for imported human hair is India + China. I chose the latter! Our hair is collected from younger females between 18 to 50 years old meaning it is still raw, young and much finer. Each bundle is unprocessed and still intact from the one donor. What’s the difference between young and older hair? Younger hair is filled with more nutrients while the older hair is depleted in health. Selecting younger hair is what helps keep it soft and longer lasting. It makes sense, right? Coarser hair texture doesn’t always blend as well with finer hair textures and retains much more moisture and ain’t nobody got time to blow dry that! 07.01.2022 Hello business owners Do you get clients asking you why your services or hair extensions are so expensive or why your prices increase? Do you know your value and know you can deliver? And how much time you invest in your self and ?... If you know what your time, expertise, effort and quality is bringing to the table, then give your self permission to honour it. 03.01.2022 When I was 5, I told my parents I wanted to be a hairdresser, they said NO! They said, do anything but hair. At 12, I asked my parents to work in a salon, they said NO! Id convinced them to allow me to do work part-time at a salon In High School I asked to go to America as an exchange, my dad said, over my dead body and I said one day Ill be living in America and you cant stop me - teenage sass out in full force!... In my early 20s I asked my ex boyfriend to work with me in America and he said I was crazy! The answer was NO! No, no, and NO! I started my apprenticeship at 15, At 23, I was working in a high end salon and running a hair school as a education director working 98 hours a week, being under-valued, under-paid and trapped. So, I made a radical change! I quit my job, dropped the boy, ignored everyone telling me NO and went to work in LA and New York for 2 years! I was living in the Bronx on my own by the age of 23 - real gangster! I developed a whole 'fuck you' drive. fuck you' drive is real and healthy if you ask me. It took me time to unpack the self doubt and fear, but fighting against the NOs has everything to with my success now. I didnt know at the time my intuition was so strong I just didnt understand that frequency. I was planting the seed for what came to later in my life. I just knew there was a feeling, a connection & purpose that I could just never shake Moral to my story? Knock backs will happen, just like it did for Colonel Sanders, you know KFC chicken , he received 1,0009 rejections before he got his first yes..
