25.01.2022 Outdoor activities. What a lovely day @ Yowie Bay, New South Wales, Australia

24.01.2022 Keeping our bodies active and getting them moving is so important, especially with so many people staying at home. Here at preschool we set up a fun obstacle course yesterday that engages the children in different movements and getting them learning at the same time, incorporating the alphabet and also numbers in the hopscotch. Today we have added some more movements. This is a simple set up that you can do at home or we would love to see your take on a different course. There are so many different elements and movement that you can add.

24.01.2022 Celebrating 29 years of owning and running Yowie Bay Preschool this week. . . . ENROLLING NOW FOR 2021... Yowie Bay Preschool is a small 25 place preschool in Yowie Bay for children ages 3-6 years . Our indoor and outdoor areas are set up daily to encourage and enhance the children's learning through exploration and discovery. Our qualified early childhood educators are on hand to provide a caring and nurturing environment, designed to aide children's learning and development. We pride ourselves on providing a strong sense of community between the parents, children and educators. By involving families in the learning process, we believe this leads to better engagement and improved educational outcomes. The centre boasts a complete school readiness program along with yoga programs, meditation and a French early learning language program (ELLA). We have recently been assessed through The Department of Education and received a rating of ‘Exceeding’. Our centre is operated between 8:30 am 3.30 pm Monday to Friday. Open during school holidays throughout the year. Closed during Christmas holidays. We currently have limited vacancies for 2020. 18.01.2022 We would like to extended a very big thank you to Miss Shantelle who runs Shimmy Shakes for providing us access to some online dance and movement classes. It was very much enjoyed on this cold and wet afternoon to help us use up some energy. If you are looking for something fun to do while at home Shimmy shakes are offering prerecorded class as well as live stream classes Monday, Thursday and Saturday. 08.01.2022 Stuck on ideas of things to do while at home? Yesterday the children enjoyed learning all about shadows and followed on from this with shadow drawings. This is a simple activity that can be done at home with any items of interest and also has us outside and enjoying the fresh air. All you need to do is set up your chosen object, in our case we used dinosaurs, on a piece of paper so the shadow can easily be seen. Using your pencils/crayons/textas trace around the shadow of the object. We would love for you to share any shadow drawing you do with us!
