22.01.2022 Yorke Peninsula’s Saltwater Classic 2018 We’re counting down the days to Yorke Peninsula’s Saltwater Classic to be held in Stansbury and Port Vincent on 21 and 22 April 2018. Restored wooden and classic boats from across South Australia and interstate will arrive for a fantastic weekend of on water and foreshore activities including markets, displays of vintage cars and motorbikes, stationary engines from the past, arts, craft, local produce and entertainment.... With major sponsorship from the South Australian Tourism Commission, the biennial Saltwater Classic has grown into an important tourism event attracting people to the picturesque towns of Stansbury and Port Vincent and other wonderful destinations on Yorke Peninsula. 22.01.2022 We’re celebrating the continuing success of Yorke Peninsula’s Saltwater Classic. The 2018 event achieved coveted Silver honours in the South Australian Tourism Awards and the Yorke Peninsula Tourism Awards. This follows two Bronze Awards in 2016. Congratulations to our visitors and everyone who contributed again to our great event. We’re aiming to do it all again for a golden Saltwater Classic in 2020.

Fishermen on Yorke Peninsula regularly raced against each other under sail. Do you have any interesting old photos of fishing boats working or competing in some of these races?...
