22.01.2022 Our Wood Shed team learnt so many skills yesterday in the shed! Measuring and marking, using biscuits to join different timbers, getting a smooth finish using a nail punch and working collaborately together! Emily and Richelle watched how Kay made her cheese platter and Kay assisted Emily and Richelle to make their own. Always so proud of the teamwork demonstrated in the Wood Shed!

20.01.2022 There's still some time to place a bid to raise funds for YPLO's Wood Shed! Please share the SA Police post with your friends and family https://fb.watch/1A-qZMAmfy/

20.01.2022 We have a WINNER! Clayton has won the award for the member who has propagated the highest number of YP natives - with over 1000 Pittosporum Angustifolium (also known as Gumbi Gumbi or Native Apricots) germinating. Which means you WIN too!... Visit our nursery tomorrow, 37 Stansbury Road Yorketown, between 11am and 1pm and mention 'Clayton' to receive a free Native Apricot seedling. The tree has a weeping appearance with long slender leaves and small pleasantly scented creamish yellow tubular flowers from late winter to mid-spring. As the small round fruit ripens it changes from green to yellow/orange and looks similar to an apricot but definitely doesn't taste like an apricot!

17.01.2022 Are you looking for a facemask? Me too! I am looking for something local and something sustainable My Google search led me to an article in Citymag, here's the link I would love to see your mask-wearing selfies in the comments below. https://citymag.indaily.com.au//where-to-buy-adelaide-mad/... There's also a handy guide for anyone who can sew to make their own (and some for others too) using recycled green shopping bags ! https://www.health.gov.au//coronavirus-covid-19-how-to-mak

14.01.2022 Members at our Native Nursery in Yorketown were busy out in the warmer weather - checking trays of germinated seeds, watering of stock, weeding, consolidating trays and seeding trays of soil. Jess pointing out our new Sheoak seedlings that have recently sprouted.

13.01.2022 Wonderful day celebrating the achievements of the Wood Shed team today with our VIP guests from SA Police and Willo. Senior Constable Adam Meyer created a beautiful bat with a photo taken at Flaherty’s Beach. SA Police have added to the value of this artwork with the Police Commissioner and SA's Redbacks Cricket Captain, Travis Head, both signing the cricket bat. 100% of the funds raised will be donated to YPLO's Wood Shed to assist with purchasing hand tools to complete the individual workbench areas, assisting members attending YPLO's Wood Shed program to build their capacity working in a Wood Shed environment as well as make some awesome projects.
