01.01.2022 YSN & ACDN invite you to Celebrate Deepawali Festival of Lights @ Auburn Central on Saturday 29 October! Deepawali (also known as Diwali or Deepavali) popularly known as the "festival of lights", is an important Hindu festival and is celebrated in families by performing traditional activities together in their homes. Lamps, fireworks and bonfires illuminate this festival, as the word Deepawali means a row or cluster of lights or rows of diyas (clay lamps). The festival ...symbolizes the victory of righteousness and the lifting of spiritual darkness. Deepawali celebrations may vary in different communities but its significance and spiritual meaning is generally the awareness of the inner light. The event will include light installations, rangoli art work, henna hand painting, childrens drawing tent and Indian Chai tea and sweets being served with lots of great performances. This event is being organised by the Youth Support Network (YSN) as a part of the project Crossing the Line: Making a world of difference by learning about difference funded by Community Relations Commission For a multicultural NSW Community Engagement Project and is also supported by the Islamic Council of NSW and SEVA International. Hope you will join us to celebrate this special events with friends and family.
