24.01.2022 This was the last coffee I enjoyed whilst visiting a friend in Manly, just before I ventured to Sydney airport with my large backpack, ready for a month traveling solo to Bali and India. This trip in 2013 changed the trajectory of my life forever. I left planning to move back to Sydney, yet I returned with a newfound gratitude and love for my little hometown community in the country. The big open skies, electric sunsets, fresh air, quiet and clean streets, the safety, the nat...ural beauty that surrounded us, and the supportive and caring community. Even though it was an incredible trip, I could’ve kissed the Earth I was so grateful to be home. I learnt on that adventure, that no matter where you go in the world, no matter what different cultures you visit or unique landscapes you’re surrounded by, the three constants that are always there is the sun, the moon, and you. So I thought, instead of running from myself and my problems, why don’t I actually start making peace with myself, since I’m always going to be here anyway?. This trip changed my life. And in a way, the lessons I learnt from it I’m still being reminded of today. I’ll never take where we live for granted again. 24.01.2022 I used to believe freedom is being able to move away or change directions from anything that felt uncomfortable or brought up fear. I would run away whenever things got tough or I felt strangled or smothered by life or a particular situation or person. I thought this was freedom, yet for some reason my problems kept following me, or they re-emerged in another way or through another form. I’ve learnt that once we bravely face our fears, sadness, guilt, anger, limiting be...liefs or sense of unworthiness, and instead connect with ourselves with unconditional love, acceptance and compassion... Once we are able to forgive ourselves and others wholeheartedly in order to cut the emotional cords to our past and move forward .. That’s when we are truly free. 23.01.2022 Put simply: Kinesiology clears stress from the body. This stress can come in many forms, which is why we look at the WHOLE person - their physical, mental, emotional & spiritual health. We use a process called muscle testing to be able to connect to your body’s wisdom - your subconscious. We can then work out where the blocks are in the body, what the underlying cause is that has created this block AND we can also work out the ...most effective way to then remove this block gently and permanently. The body in its balanced state, where the energy is flowing freely and we feel centred, calm and vibrant - is our natural state. At our best, we thrive. We beam with glowing health. 22.01.2022 We are strong when we band together, even if we are separated by walls. At the heart of humanity is love, care & connection.. even when we may physically need to all be less connected for awhile (like with what’s happening in Italy)... We can still find comfort in each other. We will get through this together. This global situation calls us into compassion, practicality and is an invitation to become more aware of ourselves and the difference between choosing to lean into fea...r or lean into love when it comes to both our thoughts AND our actions. CHOOSE to lean into being considerate of others, comforting others who are scared, and taking the necessary, practical steps to help prevent the spread of this virus, such as simple but important physical actions like washing your hands regularly.. Just because we are temporarily physically being separated as mass crowds, doesn’t mean we are going through any of this alone. Just because large events are getting cancelled, doesn’t mean to be fearful. They are getting cancelled out of care and consideration to those more vulnerable in our society who need our support to prevent this illness spreading too quickly, and so our hospitals and medical teams have what they need to support us. Choose to know that these decisions happen from an energy of CARE, not fear. So CHOOSE to stay calm, grounded and loving - that’s where your power is in this. 21.01.2022 Whether working together in person or online as a new client, the first 30-45 minutes is always dedicated to understanding you and where you’re currently at with your physical, mental and emotional health. Unlike an in-person session where you’re lying down on a massage table, instead I am temporarily taking on your energy and muscle testing my arm on behalf of you. During the session we will use multiple energetic tools and reference boo...ks to help guide us to what needs to be cleared and how. By muscle testing, we are able to pinpoint the exact remedies you need so your body can be brought back into balance. This way of communicating with the body is priority-based, so we are always using the most important technique in order to bring your body back into balance! We may talk about shifting your mindset, attitude or beliefs around a particular theme, using acupressure techniques such as holding or massaging a certain point in order to gently dissolve the issues that come up for you, or we may need to look at a specific essential oil, oracle card, crystal, flower essence (which I take on your behalf, but just simply the awareness itself is enough to get a benefit) that is related to your goal or context. 19.01.2022 Well, it has been a busy 3 months - our beautiful daughter Lydia arrived in early April! We fall in love with her more each day , but boy parenting can be so challenging sometimes! Especially in the first 6 weeks or so, with the intense sleep deprivation, the pain and overwhelm of trying to establish breastfeeding (if you choose to), the way it changes your relationship as well as scrambling together a new normal whilst letting go of the freedom and lifestyle you were... previously accustomed to. It takes a lot of surrendering, softening, faith, determination, acceptance, honesty and patience. All of which I struggled with for awhile there. I really have a newfound appreciation and respect for all parents out there. I’ll be doing a series of posts over the next few weeks sharing some of my experiences and lessons I’ve learnt, as well as how kinesiology and mindset principles played a part in it. What if instead of listening to everyone else’s opinion, you went with what felt good for you instead? What if you broke the so called rules, ran your own race and put your heart into it rather than your head? The possibilities become endless when there’s a clean slate.. Freedom has never felt so good

15.01.2022 Mindset Is Everything I always thought my challenge when it came to becoming a mum, would be conceiving. I didn’t ever consider what the journey would be like beyond that. I guess I just presumed it’d be easy (oh the naivety! ). I presumed I’d have the perfect pregnancy with no complications. I presumed the giving birth process would be uncomfortable yet be still in my comfort zone. I presumed when my baby was out in the world we would blissfully breastfeed and live happ...ily ever after. Instead, we were faced with challenges and decisions at each one of these points. We quickly realised our Plan A wasn’t going to work out. Possibly not our Plan B or C either. The circumstances and the decisions surrounding them created a lot of fear. We had to find our level of comfortable-uncomfortable in each decision we made. What helped was being conscious to how fear can play into our clouded judgment. How it can make things worse. Sometimes we can fixate on how things should be. We can have a mentality of it’s Plan A and nothing else!. There’s nothing wrong with being determined and working towards an outcome or intention we want to experience. Yet sometimes it isn’t going to be our reality, and we have to look at other alternatives. An important principle within holistic kinesiology is when you’re in fear mode, to drop into your heart instead. Drop and feel into your body for the answers and for the calm. Drop out of the flight or fight survival response, into the grounded, level-headed, higher version of yourself. Then make the decision and move forward in that mind-frame instead (it’s a lot more empowering!). That’s the only way we can feel freedom within when something is happening that’s totally out of our control. So each time I felt like I was at risk of being stuck in fear, by focusing on shifting my mindset I was able to enjoy the journey along the way, the good and the challenging. It enabled me to be present in the comforting moments of love, like what was captured in this photo. Nothing can take these kind of moments away from you unless you allow your mindset to See more

15.01.2022 Kinesiology helps with a wide range of issues, although the main reasons why my clients normally book in with me is to get help shifting anxiety and stress, feel more confident and self-assured, experience more calm, gain clarity, navigate through a relationship breakdown (or breakthrough!), shift feeling exhausted and overwhelmed, start or grow a business or to help those who are suffering fertility issues or loss. These issues are SO broad yet they all... have a shared underlying theme - trusting, accepting and loving themselves, first and foremost. Doing what’s right for them. Putting themselves as a priority. Slowing down enough to hear their inner wisdom and what their soul wants to say. Feeling into their body and what feels right for them. 14.01.2022 Anxiety is experienced when we are disconnected from the present moment. It’s a sign we aren’t connected to how we’re truly feeling. Instead, we’re ignoring the now and fixating on the future what-ifs instead. ... One way to help with this, is to ground your energy into the present. Get back into your body, and out of that busy head! Slow down. Breathe. Look around you. Take in your surroundings. What can you hear, feel, see, taste? Take a few long, slow breaths. Clasp your hands together and provide yourself with a hand massage. Hold the soles of your bare feet as you sit on the floor. Enjoy eating or drinking something cold to cool down that fiery over-energy. The present moment is your solace. Your power source is right here, not there. When you connect to how you’re really feeling, you’re then able to move through it much more quickly and easily. All the answers are HERE for you, right now. It’s just about making time and space in order to receive them. What do you need to do, right now, for you? What do you need? Allow yourself to receive. Re-Centre. Listen. 14.01.2022 Unlike other modalities, kinesiologists work very differently from each other. In general, the only aspect that remains the same between all of us is how we use the technique of muscle testing to obtain information from the body / your subconscious. The rest varies greatly depending on which path the kinesiologist took to become qualified (the workshop method, the Cert IV/ Diploma route or now via modalities like the Emotions & Metaphy...sical Kinesiology stream (which I now teach, FYI) as well as what they’re generally interested in and their unique background / life experience. For me, I really enjoy focusing on where all of our physical issues actually begin - from an emotional stress. When we clear that, the physical symptom doesn’t need to be there anymore. The cog turning the wheel is taken away. Stress is the cause of all dis-ease in the body, mind and soul. There are such vast differences as to the types of stress that are held in the body (this can include things like old belief systems not serving us or borrowed attitudes learnt from those who raised us etc) yet the body knows what it is AND how to shift it. YOU have the answers already, as energy practitioners we simply decode what your body is trying to say and gently help guide you through it. It’s such a different way of viewing our health. Instead of blindly putting our power in other’s hands all the time, sometimes we actually need to tune in within and ask what do I need? What is this symptom trying to tell me?. Learn to trust what comes through. The more you connect and tune in to your intuition - your gut knowing - the more you’ll know the answer to that question. When you can’t? 10.01.2022 If you’ve been a recent client of mine or you’re on my email list (have you subscribed yet?!), you probably know this already.. but my husband and I are expecting our first baby, due in April! We are super excited and can’t wait to start this new chapter as parents So - what does this mean for Yugen?!... Well, I’ll be going on maternity leave from early April until September, so I’ve opened up all session times that are available between now and when I go on maternity leave. If you’ve been thinking of working with me 1-1 for either a kinesiology or reiki session, this is the perfect time to book in before sessions are all gone until September! I’ve got 2 EMK workshops coming up: Mind Chill on Saturday Feb 15 and Balance & Flow on Thursday Feb 20. 10.01.2022 Soaking up the best days and bottling it up for the not-so-great ones Like we can when it comes to anything in life really.. life will dance between the light & dark, but taking in those good moments and allowing it to touch your heart helps you to get through the inevitable times when life dips into the difficult. 09.01.2022 Brooke recently graduated as a graphic designer, yet she was struggling to have any clients book in with her. "What am I doing wrong?!" she asks her kinesiologist. They discussed what she'd like to achieve. "I want ideally 6 clients a fortnight", she says. "How does that feel when you connect with the vision of having 6 clients per fortnight?", asks the kinesiologist. ... "Great! Really excited and motivated. It would be the perfect amount where I wouldn't be feeling stressed to make ends meet, but not so overwhelmed either since I'm just starting out". "Perfect", says the kinesiologist. "Then let's align you to it!". 09.01.2022 The most recent example of how kinesiology has helped me was almost 6 months ago, when I was in a world of pain, overwhelm and despair. I had recently given birth to my daughter, and I was desperately struggling to breastfeed whilst experiencing serious sleep deprivation. I felt completely disconnected from myself and my body. In the midst of the chaos, I booked in for an online session with my kinesiologist. Here’s what came up: The book Heal Your Body by Louise H...ay, which is about physical issues and their metaphysical causes. Breastfeeding issues can relate to not nourishing self, blaming self and feeling inadequate, which was accurate to how I was feeling and where I was at mentally Metal Element - The metal element came up for me because it is related to organization and structure. We discussed ways in which I could structure my day in such a way where I was still able to get my needs met. It also relates to the emotion of grief - grieving the life of freedom I once had. Transformation card - time of endings and new beginnings. Trusting the cycles of life and embracing them Surrender flower essence - surrendering to this new way of life, allowing the old to fall away so the new may arise Eucalyptus (blue gum) oil - helps with clearing any feelings of suffocation and fatigue, and brings in a sense of being grounded and clear-headed Thulite crystal - helps with clearing shame, self-judgement and drama, and bringing in a newfound sense of enthusiasm, unification and a linkage of the heart/mind Spleen 10 acupressure point - to hold when I am feeling worried in order to help shift it This session created a huge turning point for me on so many levels, not just with breastfeeding, but with coming to terms with my new role as a mum. 08.01.2022 http:// Our Pets Are Our Teachers // Animals possess powerful gifts for us. They teach us unconditional love..... They teach us patience.. and resilience. They teach us how to care for someone other than ourselves, which in turn (ironically) teaches us how to better take care of ourselves, too. Their innocence reminds us to be humble and forgiving. They teach us life lessons that only they can, and in the meantime manage to imprint their souls onto our hearts. This little cat (with her two front paws resting up on my baby bump ) is Willow. Willow came into my life six years ago at a time where I had recently been through a pretty rocky relationship breakdown, and my mind was constantly in this fear-based, unworthiness mode. I was feeling lost and disconnected from myself. Willow helped me reconnect to my loving, most genuine self. She activated this feeling of unconditional love that I had completely forgotten about. Learning this from her taught me how to be more compassionate and loving not only towards myself, but to those around me as well. My life flowed in a beautiful new direction once she arrived Animals can also teach us how to grieve when they’re gone, too We lost our beautiful dog Fergus recently, and wow talk about heart-shattering. He was the most loving, faithful dog, with such a sweet disposition. He was so much more than just a dog - he was family. Yet after processing the shock and the immense grief of losing him, a feeling of gratitude began to flow in. Gratitude for the time we had. Gratitude for the joy he brought to us every day. Gratitude for the lessons he provided. And even after our animals pass on, their presence is still felt. Their energy is still with us. Their love still remains.. as do their lessons. 06.01.2022 Sally would feel so frustrated when she would realise she’d just spent the entire day trying to please everyone else except herself. She felt exhausted, overwhelmed and anxious. Keeping everyone happy regularly meant she needed to overextend herself or say yes to things she really wanted to say no to. It felt like she was constantly trying to pour from an empty cup. Sally was surprised at what came up during her Kinesiology session. The age of 12 came up as a stress w...hich was when she was constantly praised for being so busy, and was always being encouraged to beat her personal best times in sports. This constant scrutinizing actually created a belief that she wasn’t yet good enough. Since then, she realised, she’s never felt good enough. The session also focused on restoring her life energy level so she had the energy to fulfill her current commitments. The fire element oil came up in order to help her live her life and express herself from her heart - her truth. She had the flower essence Ratany placed on her crown chakra in order to help diffuse the stress when she is faced with choices, so she can feel more at ease making decisions that are aligned with how she is feeling. She wore the throat chakra glasses in order to reset her perspective when it came to having the courage to speak up and say no and hold her boundaries stronger. She held certain acupressure points in order to diffuse the frustration and annoyance that was sitting within her small intestine meridian, and she had Rose Quartz placed on her heart chakra to help her begin to accept and love herself just as she is (no striving or overachieving necessary!). In the weeks following, Sally felt like she was finally able to live more within the present moment rather than worry whether she was meeting everyone’s expectations, and she created space so she could do the activities she enjoyed. 06.01.2022 Have you noticed all of the bottlebrush that have bloomed so spectacularly well this year?! It feels like all of a sudden there’s been a major POP of radiant red flowers everywhere! Love it. From an energetic perspective, it’s super interesting too. Red is a colour associated with the base chakra, which when out of balance holds a lot of our survival fears. It governs what we need for survival, so think money stress, disconnection from our community, or any kind of ...threat to the way we can have a roof over our heads and put food on the table. These survival stresses have affected many of us around Australia (and the world!) this year, and for our region out here with the drought, there has been many years of ongoing survival stress. Seeing the colour red can help balance our base chakra and clear these stresses for us. When you look at what the flower essence of the Australian bottlebrush helps to clear too, it’s even more interesting! It specifically helps people move through major life changes and the overwhelm that often goes with these changes and it brushes out the past and allows the person to move on. 05.01.2022 Ben was struggling to make ends meet. He was working long hours in a job he had for over 10 years now, but it wasn’t enough to take care of his growing family, and it was causing arguments with his wife. The first emotion that came up as a stress in his Kinesiology session was the word trapped. Yet when this was tested against feeling trapped concerning money or possibly feeling trapped in his relationship, it surprisingly didn’t show up as a relevant stress. Where ...else could you be feeling trapped?, asked the kinesiologist. Well... possibly my work, he said. I feel like I’m just doing the same thing every day. I lose motivation because it’s just not interesting enough anymore. Could you ask for a different position in the company? Or some kind of promotion? asked the kinesiologist. Ben went silent for a minute. ... I think I’d be too embarrassed if I went to them and they said no, he replied. The remedy that came up next was a tuning fork to place over his Solar Plexus energy centre, where the fire in his belly sits, and where his sense of self worth and confidence can be strengthened. Then the kinesiologist asked: Ben, if you believed in yourself more and trusted in your ability to do the job well, would you ask for a promotion then?. Ben thought about this for a minute. Reach out to a friend you haven’t spoken to in awhile Tick off things from your to-do list that you’ve been meaning to for ages but haven’t ever gotten around to it. It feels SO good to finally get these things DONE! Do an online workout that helps you move your body in a way that feels good! Buy some flowers or bring in some from the garden to refresh your space and uplift your spirit Open windows to let in some fresh air, and open the curtains to ensure you get some healing sunlight into your living space! Meditate. There’s no better time to do it! Even if just for 5 minutes. You’ll be amazed at the different it’ll make. Get the information you need from credible sources, and ditch the rest. Simplify and narrow down your content to what’s important. Ignore the rest. Do up a financial budget so you can feel empowered during these changes, or can make plans or put new strategies in place to support you at this time. Make a list of everything you CAN be grateful of right now. Like your health, how much money you’re going to save being at home more, enjoying some time to relax and just be, having a roof over your head, and have newfound sense of gratitude for the lifestyle you normally would lead (and that will return again in perfect timing).
