Commencing in March 2021 these regulations modernise bod...y corporate procedures, improve owner protections and reduce body corporate costs. SCA (Qld) has liaised with the QUT Property Law Review Panel in the first four years of the review, provided more than two dozen submissions to the various stages of White Papers, Consultation Drafts and Draft Regulations including targeted confidential stakeholder feedback. 14.01.2022 The COVID-19 Emergency Response - Community Titles Schemes and Other Matters Regulation 2020 has been released! In March 2020 SCA (Qld) wrote to the Attorney-Ge...neral regarding the difficulty of holding meetings in compliance with the BCCMA while the pandemic was emerging. There are several key points in this Act: 1. Allowing committees to modify how meetings are held 2. Allowing access to registers and documents 3. Restricting access to common property 4. Waiving prescribed fees for dispute resolution services SCA (Qld) will be publishing more information for members today, and will be hosting a complimentary webinar for all members to give a full run down of this Emergency Response Act. #strata #bodycorporate #COVID19 #emergency #response

They've has also pledged $40 million f...or the North Queensland Strata Title Resilience Pilot Program, aimed at reducing insurance cost for strata properties. This has been a major priority for SCA (Qld) over the past year, and is a huge win for the whole industry.
