Please remember, if you are feeling unwell stay at home and if you have any flu like symptoms, get yourself tested for Covid19.... 21.01.2022 It’s 10 Pin Bowling Time!!! Steve, Lucas, Grant, Matt, Steven, Christine, Jared, Pete and Andrew (our Support Worker) are bowling for gold! Yumaro has a 10 Pin Bowling Activity running on certain Saturdays (until further notice) at Ulladulla. As you can see, last Saturday they ALL had heaps of fun Just look at those smiley faces! All the rules were explained to them and they could not wait to get started. 21.01.2022 Our very own, Heidi, has been collecting bottle top lids to help the Lids4Kids Australia Campaign and needs YOUR help. The Lids4Kids Australia team is rescuing plastic tops from landfill to benefit the environment. They are working with new and existing plastic recycling workshops to make products to benefit kids by converting them into prosthetic hands. Heidi would love it if anyone who would like to help out to drop off your bottle top lids into our Moruya Office (or even U...lladulla and we can transfer them to Moruya) See photo below for what lids are accepted and please make sure they are washed. 15.01.2022 Yumaro's "Moruya Girls" had a day out to @Bodallabakery for High Tea last Saturday. The girls ate all types of yummy sandwiches, savoury mini pies, macaroons, cupcakes, scones with jam and butter plus custard. All the food was scrumptious, delicious and home made! The girls enjoyed their day drinking all different types of tea including iced while enjoying the relaxed environment around them. 15.01.2022 Last week our participants reached their target for Bunnings’ Cleaning Cloths and we had a party! A delicious BBQ with all different types of salad, bread rolls, sausages, meat and chicken. It was a day with lots of smiles and lots of food. Everyone walked away with a very full tummy. Thank you to everyone who was involved not only with the BBQ but in cutting, sewing, clipping, weighing and bagging the Bunnings’ Cleaning Cloths. 15.01.2022 Yumaro’s Yummy Café is opened again! It is opened every lunch time on Thursdays from 12:30pm at our Moruya Factory. The cost is $10 per head and includes a meal (rotated weekly) with a drink and fruit platter or date and chia balls All healthy. Take home meals for dinners are also available for $8.00 so please email Jessica on [email protected] no later than the Tuesday leading up to the Thursday lunch meal if take away is required so we can ensure this is catered ...for. Families are also encouraged to purchase for a healthy weekday take away meal. Here are some photos of our latest Yummy Café Day Thursday 27th August and as you can see, our participants enjoyed cooking AND eating the food. Many thanks to our qualified Chef and team member, Paul who is working with our Supported Employees, teaching them to cook healthy meals that taste delicious and they are very excited to be a part of this new venture. Thursday 25th November was Virginia’s birthday so all the staff, employees, volunteers, carers and some parents had a morning tea in celebration of this wonderful day. 13.01.2022 It’s 10 Pin Bowling Time AGAIN!!! This time, we drive up Helena, Robbie, Meike, Peter, Renee, Tyler and Justin to Ulladulla with the help of Andrew (our Support Worker). They all played lots of games, ate lunch and most of all, had HEAPS of fun. There were loads of laughter, not just at the Dunn Lewis Centre Ulladulla but in the mini bus there and back to Moruya. Our new group of bowlers were also excited about the ‘special shoes’ and especially when it came to choosing their... own 10 pin ball for the day. 07.01.2022 Great news!!! Thanks to everyone who has dropped off their bottle top lids into Moruya and/or Ulladulla. Lids4Kids have contacted us directly, thanking us for our immense support and a representative will be driving down to the south coast the weekend of the 6th November (2 weeks away) to take what lids we have collected to their factory in Canberra. If you have some lying around your house, PLEASE drop off your bottle top lids to our western factory in North Moruya Industria...l Estate (number 8 Shelley Road) by Friday 6th November so Lids4Kids Australia can start turning them into prosthetic hands. Please make sure the lids are washed (and it would be much appreciated if they are colour sorted especially if you are bringing in A LOT of lids). This will be an ongoing collection but as Lids4Kids Australia are coming into 2 weeks, Yumaro would love to show them how much we have supported them and will be supporting them in the future.
