25.01.2022 When I was little, my mother would sometimes buy us bread from the Asian bakery. She always got me sausage bread rolls and believed I liked them But later on, I didn't like them anymore and had a preferences for pineapple buns instead (fun fact - there’s actually no pineapple in the buns, the name came from the top having a resemblance of the outside of a pineapple - that’s what I’m holding in the photo). She kept buying those for me though because she remembered me l...iking them Our taste and preferences can change over time and that’s OK Sometimes we can wonder why we don’t like something anymore and think ’ or . But and ’ . We can change, things that once worked may not work anymore. We can’t force the same solution to work if it is just not working The important thing is to recognise the change and accept the reality of what it is right now for you. THEN you can find the right solution for the struggle you are facing now See more

24.01.2022 Tough times are not always pleasant but it can help us learn and grow Just like a soufflé, we put it into a hot oven and it grows! Without the heat, it wouldnt rise Achieving a healthy relationship with food can be like that. Something I ask my clients to do is to record factors that impact their eating. This is easy to do on a good day, but when its a bad day, its much more difficult to write down and even preferred to be avoided ... However, its during those tough times that we get to learn a lot of valuable information that helps you overcome the things that hold you back from having the food freedom you want When you face the struggles, you can learn from it and rise up victorious It may not be easy, but with the right support, you can be empowered to find the root of the problems you are facing so you can overcome it for good! If you feel like bad days make you lose control around food and want to know how you can overcome it, send me a message and Id be happy to answer any questions you might have See more

24.01.2022 Around this time last year, I went on a weekend away with my family to Mt Hotham It had been a long time since we had a holiday with all of us together The weather was perfect. It had just snowed the morning we arrived so there was a fresh coat of pure white covering the terrain ... As I immersed in the beauty around me, I was able to let my mind rest from the usual busyness of life The thing is, just because we are physically resting, doesnt always mean we are mentally resting There have been many times when Ive gone away for a break only to feel even more tired because I was unable to let my mind get away from thinking about the things that I needed to do back home Whether its up in the mountains or just in the backyard, theres something about nature that can help take the mind off things, even if just for a little while. And since our mental and physical health are connected, it can help us feel a little more physically rested as well. We may not be able to travel far from home at the moment, but we can still give ourselves some mental escape. Whether its watching the clouds in the sky or listening to the rustling sound of leaves on the trees, whats something you can do today to give your mind a get away? Let me know in the comments below! 23.01.2022 If you have felt like youve lost control around food and have gone on a binge, dont be so quick to blame yourself. Our culture hasnt always served us well to foster a healthy relationship with food. We have a strong dieting and weight loss culture which can send us the message that dieting and losing weight is healthy. However, these messages may cause people to go on restrictive diets, have poorer body image and psychologica...l health which are all risk factors for binge eating. Everyone wants to be the healthiest self they can be. Although dieting may be marketed as the healthy thing to do, it may not be helping your health. If youre finding your mental and social health is suffering because youre trying to stick to a diet, Id encourage you to think whether it really is helping your health or not. Health is unique for everyone, its about finding whats best for you. If you are struggling with dieting or binges, Id love to listen to your story and give you some tips to support you on your journey. 22.01.2022 If your loved ones are sick, your instinct would be to do what you can to look after them. However, Ive seen many people, while trying to look after their loved ones, forget to look after themselves and their health suffer But even so, they often feel it doesnt matter because right now their loved one is the one that needs looking after Your loved ones care about you too! And if your health is suffering it worries them too... I received some unfortunate news about my fathers health recently. With all the restrictions at the moment, my family cant be with him and I cant go back home to be with my family. I may not be able to physically be there to look after my family, but what I can do is make sure I look after myself so my family wont have to worry about me. Your wellbeing can also affect your friends and familys wellbeing (Dont you worry when they are unwell? you see how your health can be connected with others too?) When you are taking good care of yourself, your family can be happy and relieved to know that you are well, which helps them to stay well too See more

22.01.2022 Which would you choose? Perhaps that was a trick question. Can we really say we are healthy but miserable? Health is a state of complete physical, mental and social wellbeing so to say we are healthy but mentally feel down may actually be a contradiction. Sometimes in our pursuit for health, we can become so focused on one aspect of health and ignore our whole health. Many people have gone on diets in their pursuit for health but find themselves falling into the unhealthy die...t trap. Instead of feeling healthier, they feel they are deprived, losing control around food and unhappy. Diets that make you feel unhappy, guilty and shameful is not fuelling your health. When you reconnect and listen to what your body is telling you, you will be able to intuitively know how to eat and live that will make you healthy and happy. Health or happiness? You dont have to choose. Learn how to intuitively nourish your body so you can have both! Send me a message or leave a comment if you would like to know more about intuitive eating.

21.01.2022 ? By giving yourself some options! You see, when you are stressed, bored or upset and you go get a block of chocolate to make everything better and then you repeat it time and time again, it then becomes your default solution to whenever you are stressed, bored or upset... It may not actually make everything better, but you have become so used to going to chocolate to make everything better that you dont even realise there may be other things you can do when you are stressed or bored One of the top tips I often give my clients is to make a list of non-food related things that you enjoy doing which can help you to relax, take your mind off things or something to do when you are bored For example, it could be reading, meditation, going for a walk, building something, the list goes on! Its ok to eat chocolate if you want, but if eating isnt what you REALLY want, know there are other things you can do to help you feel better and give yourself some options Next time you are stressed, bored or upset, what could you instead of eating? Would you think - "I should wear shorts and a T-shirt, because it's meant to be summer and it's MEANT to be hot" - even though you're actually freezing cold? 18.01.2022 ? No one could have predicted or prepared for the world we are living in right now, but here you are still standing. Just like a strong tree that gets hit by rain and storm, sometimes it looks like its been through a rough time but still it continues to stand You may not always feel the best or feel the strongest, but you are still standing, you are still here. 16.01.2022 ()? It might actually be one of the safest oils to cook with! Thanks to the high levels of natural antioxidants in EVOO, its more stable when heated than refined oils. This means less break down of the oil during cooking and less toxins.... Other benefits of cooking with EVOO include: Body can better absorb some nutrients (eg. vitamin E, vitamin K, lycopene, carotenoids) from the food Food increases in antioxidants (because the antioxidants from the EVOO goes into the food) Makes food more enjoyable to eat Did this surprise you? 15.01.2022 Just because we like something, doesnt necessarily mean we want more of it. Although, its pretty normal to feel that way Lets say you love chocolate cake, and you had a GIANT chocolate cake all to yourself, would you enjoy the WHOLE thing in one sitting? You may have started off enjoying it, but you are likely to get to a point where enjoyment turns into suffering ... We want to be enjoying our food, not suffering through it! You see how having more of the chocolate cake, didnt mean you were enjoying more. Instead, you end up feeling uncomfortable, sick and the feeling of enjoyment goes away. If you had only a slice of the cake instead of the whole cake, you were more likely to get more enjoyment from it for longer So to get more enjoyment out of your food, start with a smaller amount and take the time to appreciate and enjoy it. You may find you actually get more enjoyment by having less Can you relate? Let me know in the comments below See more

14.01.2022 ? Short answer? It wasnt helping their health I always want to make sure I am doing the best for my clients health and consistently ask myself if what Im doing is helping them in the best way. I was trained to take weights as part of assessing and reviewing clients BUT as I worked with more clients and reviewed more research, I could see weighing people isnt helping them but could even be harming them. He...res why: : Weight is a number representing a measure of your whole body, not health. That number cant even tell you what your whole physical wellbeing is like, let alone your mental and social wellbeing. : People can become so fixated on weight that they let it determine the success or failure to their health. Ive seen people feel the benefits of changes in their diet and lifestyle on their health but as soon as they hit the scales, they forget about all the health benefits they have gained. : When the focus becomes heavily on weight, even if you are making good progress, you can become demotivated because the scale didnt move the way you wanted it to. Many people find it fuels negative behaviour rather than positive ones. Your health is important, lets make it the focus! Share this with someone who could do with a friendly reminder See more

14.01.2022 3 Many people try to go on meal plans but find them too restrictive and really hard to follow Things might go well at the start but then you dont have the ingredients, dont feel like eating the food or no time to make what was planned and everything just seems to fall apart... If you want your meal plans to help you keep on top of your health without adding additional stress and guilt make sure you include the following in your meal plans: 1. : If you find eating the same thing all the time gets you bored, then the meal plan isnt going to work. Make sure you have lots of variety to keep things interesting for you 2. : Make sure you include foods that are easily available to you. You cant have what you dont have 3. : The main reason why meal plans dont work out is because its too strict. Allow lots of flexibility to adapt to your varying need I can help you develop YOUR personalised meal plan strategies to stay in control and healthy even during the unexpected times Message me for any questions or to get started in improving your health See more

11.01.2022 3 (Save this post so you can have a healthy meal even when you have no time or ideas!) People say eating healthy meals need a lot of planning, shopping, time, money, etc. etc. But it really doesnt have to be! ... Take this fried rice for example, looks good? Well I didnt even chop a vegetable or beat the eggs (it was one of my cant be stuffed days haha). All I used was: 1. Frozen mixed veg 2. Eggs 3. Rice (Oh, and some EVOO to fry it in; salt and pepper to season if you wish; I cooked the veggies and rice first and then cracked the eggs straight in and mixed it through well) Because life can get busy and sometimes you forget or dont have time or are too tired to think about what you were going to cook for dinner. you can still have a healthy and yummy meal, even if that happens Keep some frozen veggies in the freezer and youll always have veggies on hand to add to your meal! 09.01.2022 ? By honouring them Research shows depriving yourself of certain foods (eg. chocolate) can increase cravings and overeating of the food... Although you were trying to be good and not eat the bad food, you may find yourself wanting it more and when you get your hands on it, devour it quickly and eat A LOT more than you had intended to You can feel like youve lost control and think whats the point? Might as well have more, but then also feel really guilty and down on yourself afterwards Feeling deprived and full of guilt isnt part of good health And you dont have to deprive yourself to have a healthy diet Give yourself permission to eat. No strings attached the food isnt good or bad. You are not good or bad for eating it. 08.01.2022 ? Ive felt like that too. I get worried about things going wrong and the food not coming out the way its meant to Actually, I was also a bit nervous about this bread not going right (some of you may have seen me making it in my stories). I didnt have any measuring tools with me, I havent made bread without a machine for a while and if I didnt get this to work, Ive got no bread for the week! Luckily, it was all good and Ive got this... loaf of bread here But even if it didnt come out right, did it really mean Ive got no bread? No It might not taste as good, but it would still be edible In the worst case scenario that it came out inedible, I could just go out and buy a loaf and would have learnt some lessons in what doesnt work. You are more capable than you know! Every time you try something new, something different, you are able to learn and build more skills for now and the future Instead of thinking what if it goes wrong? think what ability can I discover or learn? 03.01.2022 You can’t cook rice in that! That’s what my family said when I said I was going to use this little put to cook rice They scoffed and said it was just a toy it’s too small I couldn’t see anything wrong with my line of thinking and what’s the harm in trying? Turns out it was great for cooking rice AND polenta ... Just because they said rice can’t be cooked in there, did that make it true? No If I had accepted what they said and didn’t even try, did that change the fact that the pot could in fact cook rice? No The pot would just simply not be used to cook rice, BUT that doesn’t mean it COULDN’T That’s the same with us. Just because we or someone or society tells us we can’t do something, doesn’t mean we can’t. We may THINK we can’t and not even try, BUT what’s the harm in trying? You may discover not only that you CAN but you CAN do so much more than you had thought! What’s something you think you can’t do but would like to try? Let me know in the comments below!

02.01.2022 Are you being too harsh on yourself? Growing up with eczema, Ive had a lot of skin issues. Its something I still deal with today, so it may not be surprising that I have tend to see a lot of flaws when I see myself in photos or in the mirror. One day, someone who had skin issues of their own said to me, my skin used to be nice like yours I was not expecting that. I didnt see any issues with their skin. I actually thought their skin was better than mine... So here we... were, looking at each other thinking you dont have a skin problem but I do Sometimes, the flaws you see, may only be seen as a problem by you. Others may not even think they exist, but we can sometimes let these "flaws" stop us from reaching our full potential Is my skin perfect? No. Does it stop me from living? Only if I let it. My ability to go out, do work and care for others is not determined by how good my skin is. But if I dont let go of my perceived flaws, it will paralyse me from taking the action. You are good enough and are more capable than you realise. What flaws can you let go of so you can do the things you want to do? Would love to hear them in the comments below so I can cheer you on too!
