What incredible support and courage was also given by the animals and Dogs of war. The animals trained and used to provide support to veterans, the messenger dogs trained to send messages across the battlefields when communications were cut. The Casualty Dogs that were trained to seek out the injured and give comfort by staying by the side of injured and dying soldiers, or by carrying medical equipment to the injured. The sentry dogs commissioned with guarding soldiers and alerting to suspicious behaviour. What amazing creatures that we are so grateful for their contribution and support to our boys, then and now.
