18.01.2022 It’s impossible to imagine until you see it with your own eyes from the air. Flying rescue and supply operations in and out almost every day during the Mallacoota fire disaster, Lilydale Flying School and Yarra Valley Aviation charter pilots Gary McGhee, Matt Gault and Jonathan Merridew weren’t afforded the usual views due to chronic amounts of smoke, requiring tricky instrument and GPS approaches. On Sunday the 12th of January, as we descended in the PC12, we were finally able to somewhat grasp the extent of the damage, as these photos by Bronni Bowen show. It's been incredible watching Australia come together during these unfortunate times and heartwarming to work alongside some ripper people, both on the ground and in the air.

Stops and highlights included Broken Hill and the Silverton Hotel (scenes from Mad Max and A Town Like Alice etc), witnessing Dig Tree at Nappa Merri - final resting place of Burke and Wills, a beer and the night at the iconic Birdsville Hotel, walking the salt pans of Lake Eyre South, William Creek, Marree and Finniss Springs, finishing off with the absolutely mind blowing Arkaroola Wilderness Santuary in the Flinders Ranges. 16.01.2022 On Saturday the 26th of October we'll be hosting the 2019 FunFlight event, flying kiddos around the beautiful Valley. It's a ripper day out for families, and WE NEED YOU! With 100 people confirmed attending this year (almost double last) we're able to really step it up a notch, so there's a call out for volunteers of every kind!
