25.01.2022 Several DVD, Blueray and VCR players dismanted today. Nearly set to do another steel run to the Rusted Art Gallery. Busy week on and off between the rains! ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Do you know of anyone in the Yarra Valley region with a shredder? We are being told to place our plastic in landfill. We would like to look into making PLA filament for 3D printers.... The plastic still won't be able to be used for foods, drainage and water systems, soils etc.. and will need warnings. It will have use for those who 3d print prototypes however.

24.01.2022 Bulk delivery of RAM arrived this week. Manual component separation for easier management of material/metals for further processing.

23.01.2022 Keeping active during restrictions round #2 by disassembling some of the laptop stock Not including what's on, or in the PCB's, the larger metals gathered and sorted from laptops/plastic are: ... -Stainless steel -Sheet steel -Aluminium -Brass -Copper -Zinc -Magnesium -Gold (plated) -Silver Keep safe, use sanitizer, gloves & a mask in busy public areas of Victoria where reccomended. Recycle and dispose of rubbish responsibly. If tip prices are too much, ask around - your trash, is another's treasure!

19.01.2022 Hand plucking pins and components, is a very time consuming, but rewarding part of our processing! Saving heavy metals, from going into landfill, one board at a time

18.01.2022 Recycling heavy this week. Lots has come in from hard rubbish and local pickups. Some classics that won't be scrapped for the vintage museum, saved from landfill. Interesting science kit along the way too!

16.01.2022 A 'Sharpie' permanent marker can be used to mask (draw) an image on excess copper clad pcb. Basic etchant is used, such as Ferric Chloride - easily bought from Jaycarr, to create some non-toxic fun art projects and give old pcb a 2nd chance https://www.interweave.com//safe-metal-etching-be-fearles/ #reuse #recycle

15.01.2022 JUST ANNOUNCED: We've just released the final design for our container deposit scheme. By 2023, we'll be rolling it out to shopping centres, drive through depot...s and mobile collection points for events and festivals where Victorians will be able to return cans, bottles and cartons to collection points across the state, in exchange for cash. In a win for community groups charities and sports clubs will be able to operate collection points, allowing them to collect cash and raise funds. We'll also have more recycled materials ready to be reused for major projects, like our big infrastructure builds instead of heading to landfill. And with that, comes more local jobs too. The final design released today outlines a rollout that will make sure collection points are accessible for everyone. And by cleaning up our state, Victorians will be earning cash at the same time. That's a win for everyone.

13.01.2022 Just a very basic example of what can be made using our recycled leftovers, made by one of our daughters, and some help by myself. Please do not hesitate to enquire. Items that are not taken - end up in recycling bin, rusted art gallery bins, or general rubbish. They are up for grabs for FREE, for your imagination and creativity This was made with some copper from transformers, pvc insulation from stripped copper wire, and a basic quartz crystal PS - if you own/have made a gr...anulator or extruder for 3d printing, this PVC can be reused for models
