25.01.2022 Got to present an amazing celebration yesterday, for a fabulous man, on behalf of a dear friend. The family did a fantastic job of transforming Yarra Valley Estate into a true reflection of Brian. His paintings, his books, his music, his memorabilia, his notebooks, the list goes on ... And the speakers were extraordinary - including a beautiful piece from Tolkien and an original song to the melody of Wild Colonial Boy. Just so perfectly fitting. RIP beautiful Brian

25.01.2022 Think outside the box!!!

24.01.2022 This happens more often than you can imagine

23.01.2022 This has been an incredibly interesting and fulfilling course to complete. I have no intention of counselling but I believe it has helped me be better equipped to help the grieving families entrusted into my care at a vulnerable time of their lives

23.01.2022 Some really beautiful and valuable advice here Thank you Christine Ford for bringing it to my attention

20.01.2022 A lovely way to start the new decade! Translation not required

20.01.2022 Today I get to farewell not one, but two, much loved people who left their beloved families much too soon. At the Bayles Public Hall we will celebrate the life of 56 year old Miss H - an absolute character of a lady! And then later this afternoon at the beautiful Cumulus Chapel - in conjunction with Gardenia Funerals - we will say goodbye to a fellow celebrant (one week shy of his 64th birthday) Mr A. A sad day for all concerned but happy that I can be there to make things a little easier for all concerned

19.01.2022 For a lady who left this world at far too young an age these days ... A beautiful service put together with the help of Tobin Brothers "Hello Yvonne... Once again please accept our thanks for a beautiful service yesterday. You speak so warmly and from the heart. Hopefully we get to see you on the peninsula down the track. Warmest regards, A, J, and family" See more

18.01.2022 Yesterday I did a beautiful funeral for a very special lady with White Lady Funerals Dandenong. I wore this outfit; but what is precious, is the beads. They were gifted to me by the family of another very special lady whose funeral I did only a few weeks ago. ... She was a very talented artist and one of her skills was bead making. These - among others - were on her coffin the day of her funeral, and I happened to be wearing this jacket. They were a perfect match! The gift was so generous and I was deeply touched. Hence I will wear them only when I feel there is a unique connection between Alice and the person whose life I am helping to celebrate that day. Another way to keep her alive in the hearts of those who knew her Thank you Meg and Chrissy xx

17.01.2022 Today I was very blessed to conduct the Celebration of Life for, not one, but two, incredible people. Mrs T raised a family of 6 boys and I girl - and for this alone, she deserves a medal!! Her boys were all there today, and manfully escorted her to her final resting place - it was very fitting. Mr W was a scallywag!! A bushwhacker, a character, a one of a kind. His farewell song of My Way, was right on the money! And by the way, he owes me one, cos I think I might just get... the Bombers over the line for him tonight!! Extreme thanks to the wonderful staff at Rosebud Funeral Services - Di, Adam, Heidi, Kim and Loxley. You guys go above and beyond for your families and Im so proud to work with you all See more

17.01.2022 As a new year - and a new decade - begins, I would like to acknowledge and thank all of the beautiful families who have entrusted me with telling the story of their loved ones lives and creating a ceremony that reflected their amazingness. For some, the pain is still raw. For others they have found peace. Wherever you are in your journey, a little bit of my heart is with you.

17.01.2022 Presented a really beautiful service this morning at my home away from home Rosebud Funeral Services with the gorgeous Kim and John! We celebrated the life of an incredible gentleman who was a keen gardener and prolific producer of vegetables. Check out the unique - and totally apt - wreath atop his coffin (Published with family’s permission) Thanks so much for your recommendation Trish Glass - there is no greater compliment

14.01.2022 Everyone knows this amazing venue - but have you thought about it for a funeral? I performed an amazing service for a truly amazing man - an artist and a horticulturalist (so the perfect setting) - last week in the Upper Gallery. It was just so beautiful, poignant and memorable. Don't be afraid to think outside the square ...

14.01.2022 This is a really lovely idea that could be utilised at an ISO funeral

13.01.2022 This is from one of my brilliant colleagues and poet laureate Gwyn Davies (UK Celebrant) Some inspiring thoughts with which to commence the new decade ... JUST ANOTHER DAY. The New year is upon us, a so called special day,... My thoughts are somewhat different, and thats just how they will stay. For everyday, is special, only you can make it so, And the world can be your oyster as about your way you go. The past has brought you to this point, mistakes along the way, But to get to where you are now, its the price we had to pay. Friends and loved ones gathered, some taken in their prime, Would they waste a moment, if they were given extra time. No! those no longer with us, not a moment would they waste, And what price would they pay to have another taste, A life that they have lost now, each precious moment gone, So,remember to savour every moment, those left to carry on. For life is no rehearsal, there is no second chance, And when the musics playing, get up and have a dance. When youre feeling fit and well, dont walk there, try and skip, And when the bank account is healthy, book another trip. For life is such a journey, the routes for us to choose, And unless you make it happen, you have so much to lose. So, when youre simply fed up, down or feeling low, Only you can make it happen, as you will all well know. So, grasp that chance your given, a moment not to waste, So much there still awaits you, so much there still to taste. Avoid the words if Only and make the most of every chance, For we may not have a warning, when its time for our last dance. See more

12.01.2022 There is a beginning and an ending for everything that is alive. In between is living. One of my favourite books as a teacher and a mum. Look how well-used (and old!!) it is

11.01.2022 Just come from another beautiful collaboration with the wonderfully kind and compassionate staff at Rosebud Funerals. We farewelled a truly beautiful soul who had almost - not quite - reached her 100th year. It was heartbreaking to see only 10 people in attendance ... I know there is no GOOD time to die, but there certainly couldnt be a WORSE one than now. Our loved ones deserve better. I know that everyone who reads this will already be doing the right thing, so Im not going to insult your intelligence by stating the obvious. Please, please, please, let the end be in sight soon

10.01.2022 My last service - of any kind of any kind - done today - a really lovely graveside. A life well lived! RIP Laurie My last service - of any kind of any kind - done today - a really lovely graveside. A life well lived! RIP Laurie

10.01.2022 I always find it a bit tough doing a funeral for a woman of my vintage - too many close to home moments

09.01.2022 ALL of my celebrant friends do this job because - first and foremost - we have a passion for helping people and absolutely love what we do!! So, to receive a gift - and more especially, a personalised note of thanks - from our clients is really quite extraordinarily gratifying. Thanks Mark - it truly was an honour and a privilege

05.01.2022 End of life celebrations don’t have to be in the more traditional locations. I led a fabulous service for an incredible lady on Sunday in the chapel at the stunning Ballara Receptions in Eltham. The weather was divine and showed the gardens off to their best advantage and the chapel itself looked gorgeous - as usual! Kudos and thanks to Fiona for her patience and support on and before the day Ballara Receptions

04.01.2022 Today I presented a really beautiful service for an amazing lady Funnily enough, she probably sold Danny and me our very first couch from Bradford Hall in High Street Preston!! But the point I really wanted to make was that one of our songs was Over the Rainbow - the Judy version. ... Have to say, still the original and the best She sings it with such power and raw emotion Grateful thanks to the wonderful staff at Rosebud Funeral Services - Di, Adam and Heidi Reunited with her beloved Keith

04.01.2022 Saying farewell far too soon for this one today ...

03.01.2022 Yesterday I presented a beautiful service for a truly amazing man - a pioneer in fresh fish marketing in Australia - as well as the first person to source Camembert cheese from overseas to sell in Australia. With a limit of 50 at the Boyd Chapel in Springvale, we managed to create a fabulous celebration of his life, as family made heartfelt tributes, and completed the ceremony by (Greek) dancing him out of the chapel. Sad? Most definitely. Celebratory? You betcha. A great ...testament to his life? Very, very much so ... RIP George - hope youre somewhere peaceful, chilling out with all your usual accouterments!!

01.01.2022 It seems NSW have lifted restrictions on funerals to unlimited mourners as long as the venue can accomodate the 4sq rule. Lets hope Victoria isnt far behind

01.01.2022 Such a beautiful uplifting story. You can see it as sad, yes. But it is so much more than that. Live life
