19.01.2022 For the last Money Money Money Mondays for the year, we've got a quick tip to start your 2021 year off right: Review your subscriptions. Go through your bank statements and audit your recurring monthly services. Are there any you can live without? Even if you're on the fence with one - cancel it and then see how you feel. You can always sign up again later if you really miss it, but pocket the benefits in the meantime! Sure, $12 a month is barely noticeable when it comes ou...t of your account once a month. But $12/month is $144 a year - a lot of money for something you're barely using! We'll be back in 2021 with more financial tips, reviews and content suggestions.

14.01.2022 For 100 years, YWCA in Perth has been supporting the leadership of women, young women and girls in Western Australia. We are marking this special anniversary of YWCA in Western Australia with a special high tea celebration. We invite members and supporters of YWCA to join us in our celebrations where we will recognise our achievements over the past 100 years and honour the many women who have led and supported the Y movement in Western Australia, while looking forward to a strong and vibrant future. 11.01.2022 Welcome back to #MMMondays for 2021. First things first - a money audit. Time to look at the year that was 2020, not being too harsh on ourselves because it was a hard year, but seeing where we can make small, positive changes for the new one!

06.01.2022 You can’t consider yourself a ‘good economic manager’ and ignore the impact on half of the population. Australia’s 2020 budget prioritised jobs jobs for men. By willfully ignoring the impact COVID-19 has had on women and 'pink' industries, the government are setting Australian women back and slowing progress on gender equality. Ironically, it was those female-dominated industries childcare, aged care and education especially that were considered most ‘essential’ durin...g the pandemic and barely got a look in with the budget, whereas construction and manufacturing received the lion’s share of support. https://www.theguardian.com//gender-ignorant-treasurers-le To learn more about gender-responsive budgeting and why it is so important, you can watch our videos with Equality Rights Alliance: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XDbEOPaagjY https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fLzJ_pwuVi0 Or read this article on our website: https://www.ywca.org.au//australia-has-never-had-a-female/ #GenderEquality #GenderResponsiveBudgeting #WomensRights #FemaleDominatedIndustries

05.01.2022 Congratulations to Elodie aka L-O-D sketches who has won our Design a T-Shirt competition! We received so many incredible designs - thank you so much to everyone who entered. Keep your eyes peeled next week to see the design on shirts, hoodies and other merch. Don't forget to check out the store in the meantime.

04.01.2022 Thanks to the generosity of our members and supporters, we reached and exceeded our $15,000 target! But we cannot relax yet. The COVID-19 pandemic has had the most severe social and economic ramifications for the most vulnerable people in our communities and has greatly exacerbated existing inequalities in society in the short and long term, with the real effects of this yet to seen. There is still time left to help women, young women and girls this festive season. Donate here: https://ywca-christmas-appeal.raisely.com/

02.01.2022 A message from the YWCA team: Like many other organisations, we're taking a break over the coming week and a half! If you have any critical questions or concerns, we suggest you contact [email protected] which will be monitored. If you are a client or tenant, please always contact your case worker or program manager fi...rst. If you are in immediate danger, please call the police, or other relevant 24/7 support services in your area like 1800 Respect or Lifeline. Wishing you all a happy festive season, and we'll see you in 2021!

01.01.2022 Today we send strength and solidarity to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities and our First Nations staff, students, tenants, clients, customers and members. We acknowledge that this land was never ceded and the land on which we all live is, was and always will be Aboriginal land. We see your pain, but we also see your strength in the face of ongoing colonisation, racism and police brutality - and we are your allies.... #InvasionDay2021 #SurvivalDay #AlwaysWasAlwaysWillBe Artwork by Charlotte Allingham aka coffinbirth on Instagram, see more of their work here https://www.instagram.com/coffinbirth/ Buy their work here https://www.charlotteallingham.com/store-1 or support them by ‘buying them a coffee’ here https://www.buymeacoffee.com/CoffeeDate
