25.01.2022 Big shoutout out to Lisa Murphy and BIG HEART ADVENTURES for facilitating a hike for our clients for the second year in a row. Thank you for giving.
25.01.2022 Thank you to my awesome colleague for pointing out the existence of impostor syndrome after I expressed some feelings of self-doubt. Feelings of unworthiness are common in the human experience. Probably due to a lack of evolution in our civilisation, where we thrive on unrealistic expectations and stereotypes, that lead to judging ourselves unfairly in an unrealistic way. I feel much better knowing Im just a human being with the experiences of a normal human being and... that I am worthy. I share this to help build the confidence of others just as my colleague did for me. Angelikh https://youtu.be/ZQUxL4Jm1Lo

17.01.2022 Today, #GivingTuesday, December 1st, thousands of charities, families, businesses, community members, and students from around the world come together for one c...ommon purpose: to celebrate generosity and charitable giving! Members of Impact100 SA are familiar with the benefits of giving, having awarded $1.3m in the past five years. It's not just about money though, we can give our time to volunteer, we can advocate for a cause we feel passionate about, or we can donate goods to groups who need them. We know this year has been particularly hard in every way for most charities, and indeed for our community. But not all giving costs money. Perhaps think about ways you can help others, and make this day a special one for you as well as your chosen charity. You could even consider joining Impact100 SA and be involved in our 2021 grant round. If you want some ideas on charities who could do with some assistance, here's the list of our major grant winners since 2015 - Kickstart For Kids Youth opportunities Zahra Foundation Australia Backpacks 4 SA Kids INC. Operation Flinders Foundation Puddle Jumpers Incorporated Grandparents for Grandchildren United Way SA Cottages 4 Country Care JusticeNet The simple act of giving can benefit so many. Whoever you chose to help on this worldwide day of giving will be grateful.

We (Zonta Club of South Puget Sound), mourn the deaths of Charlene Van Auken, 34, and her daughter, Zoe, 4, murdered in early March 2020 and dumped in local woods. https://www.kiro7.com//man-sus/45X3SJ7TVRHRHNWG4DWGKZK7OI/ We want you to know about SafePlace, the domestic violence service provider for Thurston County, whose efforts to prevent deaths from domestic and sexual violence we support. http://www.safeplaceolympia.org/ Help remember those who have met untimely, violent deaths by considering donating to SafePlace’s ‘Path to Healing’. 08.01.2022 The festive season can be a stressful time of year. During this busy period, missed calls and unanswered emails are an unfortunate fact of life. That can make i...t hard for people to find support when they decide to reach out for help. So this year, we’re asking people in Australia to update their voicemail, out-of-office, and social message spaces with messages for Beyond Blue. These powerful, personal messages can help break the stigma surrounding mental health, and let people know there is always someone there for support, even when you are not. Learn about all the ways you can spread the message that Beyond Blue is always available, at bb.org.au/2VmdzwM. If you’re looking for support to help you cope during this festive season, visit bb.org.au/2VouAq0

03.01.2022 Post from Women's Saftey Services SA: In Australia, some abusive behaviour is against the law, even if it is done by someone you know such as partner, spouse or family member (including a child). Behaviour that is against the law includes physical & sexual assault, stalking and threats to kill. Police can also assist you to apply for an Intervention order, which is an order made by a court that sets out conditions for the person who has been abusive (such as to not come near you or get other people to harass you). They will not get a criminal record if an intervention order is granted, but if they disobey the conditions, they can be charged with a crime. You can read more at the below website.
