20.01.2022 Hi folks. We had planned to open our shop today but due to the ongoing bushfire emergency in the area, we will be closed. We evaculated late last night and stayed with friends. 14.01.2022 In case you haven't heard, the whole of South Australia is going into a 6-day hard lockdown from midnight to try to get on top of a covid outbreak. The conditions are way more restrictive than last time, but if we all do the right thing we have an excellent chance of being able to have a pretty normal Christmas season. Our Hahndorf shop will be closed this week, of course, and the Stirling Market this Sunday has been cancelled, but our online shop is open! Make yourself a coffee, grab your phone or iPad and do your Christmas shopping online. In a hammock, if you have one! Don't forget to check in with elderly neighbours or anyone who might find the next week a bit of a struggle. Be kind, chill out and enjoy the sunshine

13.01.2022 Have you seen some of our new metal scuptures, fresh from Zimbabwe? Then come to the Stirling Market this Sunday! We have bumblebees, frogs (two sizes), large bird baths, two types of bee eaters (carmine and white-fronted), butterflies, white herons, large brown hippos and rhinos, buffalo trophies and lots more. Many of your favourites are also back in stock and we have some gorgeous new baskets as well. Find us in the car park behind BankSA between 10am and 4pm. 13.01.2022 If you're wondering why we've been a bit quiet on Facebook lately, it's because we're getting our house ready for sale. It's a lot of work (on top of the other work we do), and there are never enough hours to do it all! Naturally, since we're selling, we're also looking to buy a place. Our business is growing and we really need storage space so we're hoping to find: * an old house (pre-1970s, unrenovated is fine) * with 3 or 4 bedrooms... * an epic shed (or several sheds) * anywhere in the viscinity of Aldgate, Bridgewater, Heathfield, Mylor, Verdun, Balhannah, Oakbank or Woodside SA. If you know of anyone selling such a place, please call us, send us a message or drop into the shop. Conversely, if you know of someone wanting to buy a 1920s cottage in Aldgate with a modern extension and stunning views, let us know!

10.01.2022 The Stirling Market is on again tomorrow! The weather forecast is a little fierce but don't let that deter you! Come early before it gets too hot and check out our gorgeous new baskets from Ghana and our menagerrie of metal animals and birds from Zimbabwe. Heat-tolerant Henry will be there so drop in and say hi if you get the chance Our Hahndorf shop will be open tomorrow, Monday and Australia Day Tuesday from 10am to 5pm so if you're in the mood for a road trip to the Adelaide hills, swing through Hahndorf for a visit (and pick up some baked goods from Otto's across the road)!

10.01.2022 Zimbabwe is blessed with an abundance of beautiful, natural minerals. These stone eggs - all from Zimbabwe - are gorgeous to look at and hold. The colours are 100% natural. We have a large range in our shop, includiung various types of agate, red jasper, verdite, magnesite, lepidolite, butter jade, ironstone, cobalt and leopard stone. Prices range from $20 to $85, depending on size. We have some spheres too, and some bundles of seconds that would make a great gift for budding geologists!

10.01.2022 Do you need a Secret Santa gift for someone? Some customers came to our shop today looking for ideas and found a range of beautiful, handpainted birds that suited their budgets perfectly. These birds are handmade in Zimbabwe from recycled metal and are really sweet! They range in price from $22 to $30. We have three types of bee eaters, African wagtails, western bluebirds, robins, finches, blue wrens and many others!

10.01.2022 These gorgeous bees have just arrived from Zimbabwe! There's nothing like the sweet smell of quince blossom to attract them to a garden. 08.01.2022 With summer almost upon us, here's an elegant and inexpensive way to keep cool - handwoven fans! They're made in Ghana from elephant grass (like our beautiful baskets) so they're light and strong. They have a leather handle so they're comfortable to hold, and if you want to fan yourself with cold air just wet them! They're around 44cm long x 30cm wide and $33 each. They're available in our shop and will be available online from mid-December.

06.01.2022 We have a quite a collection of small birds at the moment, including these little darlings yellow finches! They’re handmade in Zimbabwe from recycled metal and are approximately 12cm long x 6cm high. They look particularly nice in groups of two or three. 03.01.2022 It's Stirling Market time! This much-loved event is on again tomorrow from 10am to 4pm in Druid Avenue, Stirling in the lovely Adelaide Hills. Our stall is in the carpark behind BankSA. We have many, many baskets from Ghana to choose from, including new oval shopping baskets in bright colours and natural. We'll also have recycled metal sculptures from Zimbabwe in all shapes and sizes. Spruce up your garden with some tall herons or a family of warthogs! Each one has a hook on the back to hang it. The bird feeders on sale this week are the smallest feeders we have. A 1.2m steel pole is in...cluded for local pickups but not for postal orders so please deduct $2 per feeder if you would like one or more posted to you. You can easily purchase a pole from a hardware store.
