25.01.2022 EXCITING ANNOUNCEMENT! The Zambi Wildlife Retreat established in 2012 to care for retired zoo and circus animals and the Kangaroo Protection Co-operative (KPC) that has been caring for injured and orphaned native wildlife since 1977 are joining forces. These two charities are combining their mutual passion and resources to create the Zambi Native Wildlife Sanctuary. The mission of the Zambi Native Wildlife Sanctuary is to provide;... - a new world-class rehabilitation facility for injured and orphaned Australian native wildlife. - a forever home and sanctuary for native wildlife that are unable to be released, including native animals retired from zoos or wildlife parks and rescued or surrendered native pets. - an educational hub; to train wildlife carers and professionals from organisations across NSW, including service and volunteering opportunities. - wildlife and environmental advocacy through public education and conservation outreach. The Zambi Native Wildlife Sanctuary will expand upon existing facilities of the KPC, situated on 30 acres of pristine natural bushland backing the Berowra Valley National Park, in Sydney’s northwest. The sanctuary is in a unique position to rehabilitate and home injured native animals in an expansive and protected bushland ecosystem. With a skilled and highly experienced team of veterinarians, zoo keepers, wildlife carers and volunteers, the Zambi Native Wildlife Sanctuary is committed to the comfort, service and survival of all Australian native wildlife. We are seeking expressions of interest from experienced wildlife carers, zoo keepers, veterinarians, trades people and landscapers who would like to volunteer their time and skills to become involved in this exciting new vision. Please email [email protected] to register your interest.

21.01.2022 Once again we have the support of a truly amazing organization. Previously named Team Rubicon, the DRA volunteers helped build our fence and prepare areas for construction at our Exotic Animal Retreat in Wallacia which was amazing and now they have come to our rescue again for the Native Animals. Zambi is so grateful to all the volunteers that donate their time to help animals.

06.01.2022 Team Paul to the rescue. We are so very thankful to Paul Danby from Weldstrong Fabrication PTY LTD and his team of volunteers that surprised us on Saturday morning. Unfortunately we were left stranded when we lost the welders that had been working on Kibulu and his prides new home and the deadline for completion was upon us. Paul put a shout out on his facebook page and Donna was so totally overwhelmed when cars full of kind people wanting to give us a helping hand started to arrive. Thank you to everyone that worked so hard for the animals Blue Mountains Rugby Union Club Weldstrong Fabrication PTY LTD @PaulDanby

01.01.2022 Long time Zambi volunteer, Jodie, loves spending quality time with our rescued Wolf dogs, Sammy and Kovu. The Zambi wolves, as we affectionately call them, are a cross breed of a working line German Shepherd and a Carpathian (Eurasion) Grey Wolf.
