15.01.2022 Sometimes the garden needs a little bit of help staying alive through summer! Remember the mulch, soil wetter, seaweed tonic and an efficient retic system! If you want more in-depth information, pop in for a chat. #stayinalive #droughttolerantplants #localbitsofbush #waterwisegardening

15.01.2022 We have a large selection of Grevilleas at the moment, including this new one: Aphrodite's Dream! What do you think? Beautiful pink toothbrush flowers on an upright shrub growing to around 2.5m. As with most grevilleas, they respond well to pruning, and can even be used to make an informal screen. They love to grow quickly in this warm weather, but will need some extra water for their first summer. Drought tolerant once established.... Other popular grevilleas back in stock are: G. Flamingo, G. Kay Williams, G. Honey Gem and G. Caloundra Gem.

13.01.2022 Our lovely atrium is getting a new roof from Monday 3rd of August, so if you pop in over the weekend you may notice it a little bit empty in there!! We will also use this opportunity to freshen up this space once all the work is complete. A thanks in advance for your patience with the disruption this may cause next week. The atrium will be closed to the public from Monday the 3rd to Wednesday the 5th of August.

10.01.2022 Gardening is an important part of our lives and plays a vital role in our health and wellbeing. We are currently open for business, to help you with your gardening needs. We are following government guidelines and have put additional measures in place to lower the risk. We have plenty of space in our garden centre, so please adopt safe distancing. Our staff will stay home if unwell and we ask you to do the same. We prefer ‘tap and go’ credit card payments to cash. Home delive...ry can be arranged for a small cost, or to avoid contact we can deliver your pre-ordered purchase to your waiting car. Please call the nursery for more details. We hope you stay safe and finds some peace in the garden. #gardeninghasnotbeencancelled

08.01.2022 Feature Plant: Eremophila calorhabdos. We have a lovely batch of these eremophilas, commonly called the Red Rod Emu Bush, although ours flower more pink than red.Their long upright stems mean you can grow them in narrow spots, like up against a fence. They prefer a sunny, sandy spot, can tolerate alkaline soils, and are drought and frost tolerant. A very attractive garden specimen, and as an added bonus, flowers can be used for cut flower arrangements.

08.01.2022 Sunday the 20th of September, Kalamunda Rotary are hosting a 6km walk along the Railway Heritage Trail. Zanthorrea will be there with an information booth, for any questions on our local wildflowers and gardening. For more information, click through to The Rotary Club of Kalamunda FB page.

05.01.2022 New to Zanthorrea is the Native Petuna, or Dipteracanthus australasicus if you prefer the botanical name. What a pretty flower, and the bees absolutely love them! They grow in a variety of soils in a sunny position. Native to the north of WA. I think they would look fantastic in a hanging basket, but can also be included in an outback style garden, or even a cottage garden. Numbers are limited with the first release of plants. Please call the nursery if you want one reserved for you and we can check numbers.
