02.01.2022 On Australian roads the number of injuries and fatalities are rising, these numbers although high, are preventable. That is why National Road Safety week which is being held next week is such an important campaign. It helps serve as a reminder for everyone to keep road safety in mind, because when it comes to transport accidents prevention is better than compensation. Drive so others survive! #roadsafety #roadsafetyawareness #drivesafe

02.01.2022 Zaparas Lawyers discuss the new Manslaughter Laws that will come into effect on 1 July 2020. These laws were introduced to prevent fatalities in the workplace and to hold to account organisations and their officers with the power and resources to improve safety. The new laws also serve to act as a deterrent from breaching occupational health and safety duties.

01.01.2022 In the early hours of this morning, football supporters around the country held their breath as they awaited the final announcement of the host nation for the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup. As long-time supporters of grassroots football in Australia, Zaparas Lawyers was right there with them. Nerves were frayed and doubt was strong the memories of the failed Qatar 2022 FIFA World Cup bid still stinging despite the 2010 award to Qatar. Understandably, the moment that Australi...a and New Zealand was read out, pandemonium erupted amongst the #AsOne bid team delegation. It is a milestone that has been described as the biggest moment for Australian sport since the choice to award the Olympics to Sydney in 2000, with the World Cup tournament seen by some as the ‘holy grail’, a rare opportunity to create an enduring and profound legacy of transformation and growth not only in Australia, but throughout our entire Asia-Pacific region. With 1.12 billion viewers tuning in to the most recent tournament in France in 2019, the next Women’s World Cup seems to be primed to be even bigger and better. Over the past four year, the number of women and girls registered to play football in Australia has grown by as much as 21 per cent, and love for the Matildas has never been stronger. The 2023 tournament promises to be record-breaking in many respects: the first FIFA World Cup to be co-hosted across two confederations (Asia and Oceania), the first Women’s World Cup to be held in the Asia-Pacific region, and indeed the first to be hosted in the southern hemisphere. As the host countries, Australia and New Zealand are home to hundreds of cultures and languages between them. Many of these cultural groups are represented amongst Zaparas’ clients. Zaparas understands that football can act as a common language to unite us all, and it is for this reason that we invest so sincerely in our community clubs. Zaparas has offices in two of the 12 host cities, with strong connections to grassroots football in both Victoria and Queensland. We are so proud to have seen our shirt represented in the final campaign bid video that was presented to FIFA, and are so excited to see the strides that this tournament is sure to make for gender equality in our country. Bring on 2023, and go the Matildas!
