14.01.2022 Tough times. Are there any positives? Its easy to be overwhelmed. Nobody could have foretold the position the world finds itself in. It has impacted everyone socially and nearly everyone economically.... Are there any positives that can be gleaned? The obvious one is that it hasnt been this easy to get around Melbournes roads - its like a Sunday morning in 1980!! There is a renewed respect for our health service providers People are taking the time out to connect with friends and family (albeit in new ways) There can and will be some business learnings out of this mess and those of us who can embrace doing things differently may not change their current economic situation now, but will be putting themselves and their businesses in a stronger position when we come out of this. Acceptance of technology for communications and transactions Better training and understanding of technology for personnel Experience in technology and application use by older generation Understanding of the importance of communication Appreciation of positive social interaction by business and its need to maintain community health Some may still be in denial or panic mode. Others are getting their head around maintaining business continuity and trying to find the opportunities that emerge from any crisis. 04.01.2022 Crazy times for all of us but as marketers we know leading businesses need to think long-term and keep building their brand, communicating with their customers, protecting their staff and honouring their values.
