25.01.2022 Half a term gone and half a term to go Week 6 is the start of some of the kids favourite weeks of the term and means its time to practice our dives and somersaults - woohoo I will see everyone for a wonderful week of swimming and flipping ...

24.01.2022 We Are Back How we attend swimming lessons is being done a little differently than in previous terms as we must follow our CovidSafe plan guidelines as requested by Australian and NSW Departments of Health. Here is a little how to video to help you out with the new system ... 24.01.2022 Hey all Week 6 was all about dives and somersaults. We all dived and somersaulted our way through week 6 wonderfully. Amazing work by very clever swimmers with a lot effort being put into doing safe dives this week.... Everyone had a go at doing somersaults (some clever little bodies were doing double front somersaults with attempts to go round for a 3rd time !) Sensational effort . Seals and mermaids were also spotted entering and exiting the water safely See you all for week 7 #WeAllSwimTogether

23.01.2022 Tomorrow sees the beginning of Week 4. I hope everyone enjoyed the beautiful weather over the weekend but please remember that we are now in the cooler months of the year and even though you may feel warm the kids will feel a chill when wet. We endeavour to keep the pool environment as comfortable as possible for everyone but the swimmers comfort is our 1st priority - so please consider this when entering or exiting and reconsider leaving the door open Reminder if your litt...le one feels the cold easily I have wet suits available for purchase for Orange, Blue, Red Clownfish $35. Also a few Chlorine resistant long sleeve rash shirts are also available check out the Zeeswim Aquademy website for items available for purchase including the amazing Towelsuits- which are just walking out the door . I also currently have a couple of ladies navy short sleeve rashies for sale as well, if you are looking for one. Finally, please remember to follow the Zeeswim Aquademy CovidSafe plan (updated copy has been emailed to all families) - failure to do so could result in fines and possible shutdown. Have a great week #WeAllSwimTogether

22.01.2022 Today is a special day! Today is Zita’s birthday we hope she has a great day

22.01.2022 Week 4 is on its way

21.01.2022 Last week was week 10 of Term 2 and we saw the pool once again being used for what it was built for Make up week was amazing with the kids who attended blowing me away with their swimming skills and keenness to be back swimming. There was a little worry that after such a long break away from lessons that the kids swimming ability would suffer and they would not be in the same place they were 14 weeks ago. I am extremely happy to say how wrong I was . Not only were their s...kills at the same level, there was even some improvement with everyone, it was as if we had never stopped to have this break. I am so proud and am now looking forward to seeing everyone for a very promising return to Term 3. Make up week was also a success as a trial run for how the Zeeswim Aquademy’s COVIDSafe plan would tranlate from theory to a working model and except for a couple of tweaks (yes, I am talking about that very tempermental hand sanitiser unit ). I will be addressing these tweaks over the school holidays. Lastly I wish to express my gratitude to the families who booked into make up week but due to family members no being 100%+, postponed their attendance until another time. Thank you for your consideration of other families attending make up week, the Covid guidelines and of myself and family Term 3 enrolments will be confirmed by email this coming week. Zeeswim Aquademy Learn To Swim and reception-admin are now closed for the winter school holidays. I will see you again when Term 3 commences on Monday 20th July.

21.01.2022 Week 9 starts tomorrow

21.01.2022 New towelsuit designs! We have now been updated that there will be 3 new designs in the towelsuits. There will also be new sizes. Send us a message if you are interested in preordering. These are great for popping on after swimming lessons to keep the kids warm and dry

18.01.2022 WEEK 9 = WATER WEEK

17.01.2022 Oops, My excitement of going the Christmas tree farm to get our tree and getting all our Christmas decorations out of storage I completely forgot to do a post yesterday. So here it is - this week is week 8 and by the end of it, we will only have 2 weeks of term 4 and 2020 left. We all know what that means - our favourite 2 weeks of the term are on their way .... Let the count down begin

15.01.2022 What a beautiful and weekend we have had - I hope everyone had a chance to have some fun and enjoy a few moments in the water . Week 7 will be with us shortly and WATER WEEK is only a few weeks away now as well - so now is probably a good time to let you know that The Sydney Children's Hospitals Network is re-launching its water safety campaign "Kids Can Drown Without a Sound". Drowning remains a leading cause of death in children aged 0 - 5 years, plus numerous non-fatal... drowning incidents. This campaign aims to: * Encourage families to take appropriate precautions in or near water * Bring awareness to the fact that bodies of water deeper 30 cm can become a drowning hazard and must have a compliant barrier installed * Learn CPR (free online training is available at kidshealth.org.au/cpr * Familiarise children with water but don't assume they can't drown Additional information is available at kidshealth.org.au/drowning-prevention. Zeeswim Aquademy swimmers are instructed on water safety each lesson and during week 9 of each term - I encourage families to practice their water safety skills by discussing with each other what the swimmers have learnt and what they remember

11.01.2022 Breaking news It has been hinted that social distancing rules for Learn To Swim will be released in a yet to be approved Public Health Order on the 13th June - the light at the end of the tunnel is starting to get closer Watch this space ... #WeAllSwimTogether

11.01.2022 Have you downloaded the CovidSafe App yet ? Thursday 16th July saw NSW Office of Sport release an update regarding changes to Social Distancing at children's sporting activities though not directly related to Learn to Swim the principal is the same and I would like all my families to help me follow the recommendations detailed in the update below NSW Update... 10.01.2022 Week 4 has gone and week 5 is here. There was a lot of great swimming last week with beautiful big arms and rolling to a back float. At the request of a number of the kids week 4 saw the return of the self serve with the introduction of a small range of pre-wrapped to choose from.... Thank you to all the Zeeswim Aquademy families for keeping their personal all together by placing them in the containers provided as well as using the provided antibacterial wipes and antiviral spray to wipes down chairs and change mats used during your visit. Also thank you to the families that have missed their swimming lessons by staying home when a family member is Everyone’s effort at keeping us all safe and healthy is amazing. Your help and consideration is very much appreciated Wishing everyone a wonderful week. #WeAllSwimTogether

10.01.2022 Our first week back after our Autumn hiatus was awesome for several reasons: * the pool being back to what it was built for * seeing everyone again and meeting the new families that have joined us for swimming * the kids jumping back into it as if they'd never been away... As we move into week 2, please remember we all need to follow the CovidSafe guidelines: * use hand sanitiser before entering pool gate * stop and wait - please only enter pool building when asked to do so * select one of the three designated seating areas (1 - to the left of the entry door, 2 - in front of the bench seat, 3 - on opposite side of the pool just past the plant) * place all personal items in the lined container provided (can be found on the chair in your designated seating area) * vacate pool area in a very timely manner to allow for cleaning of seating areas and other touchable surfaces before that arrival of the next class (kids can now be changed out of wet swimwear before leaving pool building if done quickly) And most importantly if anyone in the family is not feeling 100%+ please do not attend swimming lessons until everyone is feeling 100%+. Excited to see everyone for week 2 of swimming

10.01.2022 Reaching out to any Zeeswim Aquademy families that are involved with any local early learning centres, Day Care or schools. The Kids Alive Do The Five team have gifted me with a few large scale Boo's Adventures book packs. These books with nice big pages and great graphics would be amazing for group story time reading. If you are interested in a pack of these books for your centre, let me know and I'll get a pack to you The team have also put together a free online trainin...g module for Early Childhood Educators - it takes 30 minutes to complete and links to the Early Years Learning Framework and the National Quality Standards. I have included the link to this training module for anyone who is interested in taking a look. https://kidsalive.ditaplayer.com.au/earlylearning/signup/ Kids Alive also host daily couch concerts on their Facebook page. All the videos can also be accessed on their website - https://kidsalive.com.au/videos/kids-alive-couch-concerts/

09.01.2022 Woohoo Water Week (week 9) is done and dusted. We discovered a few holes in the kids memories this week when it came to being safe in and around the water. Water safety is a topic that should be included regularly in family conversations Dinner time might be a great time to rehash our Water Week tips Week 10 - FUN Week is just around the corner and so is the end of term 2 ...

09.01.2022 Whilst we have been locked away we thought it would be a good idea to update our website. 09.01.2022 Merry Christmas - wishing everyone a wonderful Christmas day

08.01.2022 Watch this space - Week 10 Fun Week photos to come

08.01.2022 We are now at the half way point of Term 4 and Week 6 is our 3rd favourite week of the term (behind wk 10 and wk 9 ). This week we will be working on dives and somersaults Remember to help us keep our status as a CovidSafe Business, please wipe down seating and tubs before leaving the pool deck and yard. Also please depart the pool deck as quickly as possible for that next class may move inside for their lesson - Thank you ... Looking forward to seeing everyone for another great week of swimming.

07.01.2022 We are now heading towards the last 2 weeks of term 3 and it is now time for WATER WEEK Seeing as we missed out on 2 WATER WEEKS (and in honour of lockdown) we are going to celebrate and have a Pyjama Pool Party for WATER WEEK this term. Depending on which season we are experiencing on your swimming day - winter, spring or summer PJ's are all acceptable ... PS - remember to leave the goggles at home this week #WeAllSwimTogether

06.01.2022 Week 6 is here and we are now at the half way mark for term 3. This coming week we will be working on 2 of our favourite skills - dives and somersaults Plus I have recently noted that a few of us have been hopping in the water very UN-safely and using our knees too soon when getting out of the water so we will also be practicing these skills and maybe be given a little homework:... practice safe entries and exits at home Brrr .. a cold snap has arrived so now might be a good time to offer some tips for this cooler weather: Before the lesson: Arrive wearing swimmers under clothes. Stay warm and dressed until just before the start of the lesson. Have towel/s ready for when lesson is finished - 2 towels could be handy to have so the kids aren’t leaving the pool building with a wet towel around them During the lesson: Wear a long sleeved rash shirt- available for purchase at Zeeswim Aquademy. Layer swimwear ie wear a singlet or t-shirt or 2nd rash shirt under swimmers. Wear a wetsuit - baby wetsuits are available for purchase from Zeeswim Aquademy. Wear a silicon swimming cap - this has the two benefits of helping to keep the head warm and hair dry. After swimming: Dress in warm clothes ie singlet, long sleeved shirt and tracksuit pants plus warm shoes. Dry hair properly before leaving - particularly the girls with longer hair - I find the the Turbie Twist microfibres hair towel from Big W good for this (2 pack for $12). Additional items for keeping the kids warm are hooded jackets with the hood covering head, dressing gowns, slippers/ Ugg boots and beanies. And don’t forget our wonderful TOWELSUITS, these are great additions to our swimming bag and are available for purchase from Zeeswim Aquademy These suggestions should help keep our swimmers warm, comfortable and bit more healthy. REMINDER - If your child or anyone in the family is showing any signs of illness (even the tiniest one) please keep them at home until they are well - unwell kids don’t swim to the best of their ability and share germs with others. Wishing you all a wonderful week 6

06.01.2022 Towelsuits are back in stock These towelsuits have proven to be very popular as they help keep the kids dry and warm after lessons. We currently have the below in stock:... Aztec 2 x size 2 2 x size 4 2 x size 6 Geo 3 x size 6 Blossom 1 x size 2 1 x size 4 2 x size 6 1 x size 8 1 x size 10 1 x size 12 $47.00 each Message to purchase yours

05.01.2022 Learn to Swim will recommence on Monday 1st February, 2021

04.01.2022 Another great week of swimming from all of our students. Look forward to seeing you all for week 8 Here’s hoping that all our Dad’s and Grandad’s had an amazing day today

03.01.2022 Week 8 will be here tomorrow and then quickly followed by the most anticipated weeks of the term Week 9 - WATER WEEK and then... Week 10 - FUN WEEK... I noticed last week that the Tang Fish, Angelfish and Dart Fish swimmers when they accidently fell off the island and into the water had forgotten some of the important aspects of being safe around the water, like TURN & REACH FOR SAFETY Another great one to remember is ROLL OVER & BE A STARFISH Water safety is an ongoing thing and Parents/Carers can help by listening to what the kids are learning during their lessons and then talk about what activities they participated in on a regular basis outside of lessons to reinforce these life saving skills See you all next week

03.01.2022 Hey everyone Here's the latest instalment of the Covid-19 and Learn To Swim story NSW Premier Gladys Berejiklian announced on Thursday 11th June that from Saturday 13 June, certain restrictions will ease as well as NSW Public Health updated their health restrictions with an amendment order dated June 12, sections of this order related particularly to Swimming Pools.... Indoor and Outdoor - details are listed below: Indoor and outdoor swimming pools can open and must follow the 4 square metre rule. Swimming pools can open with restrictions. * Capacity must not exceed one person per 4 square metres. * Operators must have a COVID-19 Safe Plan. In line with these announcements Swim Australia received the following information early last week from the Deputy Chief of Staff Office of the Minister for Sport. Q- Distancing rules for children once in the pool. Is it the same as school/preschool? A- Distancing rules will be listed in the yet to be approved Public Health Order (13 June). You should be using the 4sqm rule as a guide together with the 100 people cap for indoor facilities. Q- For learn to swim age group help and guidance Instructors need to have contact with the children. Duty of care in the water without a parent and with their instructor is a priority. A- Instructors will be able to assist children in the pool as required. Q- When conducting private lessons with special needs children does the distancing rule apply? If so how? These lessons are provided one on one with the instructor and are also considered as therapy for some with certain medical conditions. A- Socialising distance will not apply in the pool and Instructors will be able to assist as required." Q- So what does all these announcements and information really mean for Learn To Swim? A- Short answer is that Learn To Swim can recommence on Monday 13th June. Many Swim Schools around NSW have decided to recommence immediately but with only 3 weeks of term 2 remaining I have made the decision recommence swimming lessons at the start of a new term so therefore Zeeswim Aquademy will be returning to the water on Monday 20th July. I will be contacting all active Zeeswim Aquademy families by email over the few days with details for term 3 lessons. Woohoo - We're back #WeAllSwimTogether

02.01.2022 IT'S FUN WEEK Our last week of term 3 is here Let the games begin ... #WeAllSwimTogether

02.01.2022 Week 7 already ! where is this term disappearing too ? Last week saw us practicing dives and somersaults - all Gold Fish, Tang Fish, Angelfish and Dart Fish showed great listening skills and attempted many awesome dives . We also had all Tang Fish swimmers attempt at least one flip/spin to practice their somersaults . Angelfish and Dart Fish stepped up their somersault practice by trying a sequence of rocket kicking + 2 or 3 big into a somersault/tumble turn Well done e...veryone - remember "practice makes better " Have a great week everyone PS keep an eye out for visitor sitting on the pool floor - there could be some unexpected surprise moments for a couple of our levels

02.01.2022 At 11.00am on the 11th of November, Zeeswim Aquademy will be observing 1 minute silence. We dedicate this to those soldiers who died fighting to protect our nation.

01.01.2022 Fun Week slideshow is here The kids had sooo much fun during our last week of swimming for the term and the year - we hope you get as much enjoyment watching it as we all did making it

01.01.2022 After a technical issue for the technically challenged Term 3’s FUN WEEK slideshow is finally ready Enjoy
