25.01.2022 The 2pm tally is $1,954,302! This has made kids like Maxwell, who's on the oncology ward at The Royal Children's Hospital, break out into a big smile! The young...ster was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukaemia in November last year after his mum took him to see a GP for swollen glands. Maxwell is on his third round of chemotherapy and he will continue to be a regular oncology patient for the next two years as his little body fights to get better. 22.01.2022 The Royal Children’s Hospital acknowledges the enormous devastation across Victoria and neighbouring states, and we pay tribute to those combatting fires and an...yone affected by this tragedy. We ask all families to do what they can to stay safe and closely follow the advice of emergency services. Currently bushfire smoke is impacting air quality across large parts of our state, and will continue to do so for some time. The best advice we can give is to keep your children inside wherever possible. Children with a heart or lung condition, including asthma may be more sensitive to the effects of breathing in smoke. If your child suffers from any of these conditions, medication should be kept close-by and taken as prescribed. Children with asthma should follow their asthma management plan and keep their reliever medication on hand. 000 should be called for any child experiencing difficulty breathing, wheezing or tightness in the chest. 22.01.2022 WOW Victoria - you are unbelievable. During what has been a very challenging year your generosity to give for the kids has blown us away! A record $18.2 million... has been raised for this year's Appeal through donations from the community as well as an unprecedented top up by Premier Dan Andrews and the Victorian Government. 20.01.2022 One of the celebrity guests, Nazeem Hussain, spoke up about being a new dad to his 1yo, and how the RCH has already impacted his life due to the rare metabolic condition his son has inherited. PKU is similar to MSUD, genetics don’t allow for the break down of amino acids, which can cause serious health problems if not properly managed and treated. No doubt Dr Joy and her team have been busy supporting another family, now is the time to help them for all their amazing work with our children. #goodfridayappeal

19.01.2022 For the first time, in a long time, Wycheproof Fire Brigade, Wycheproof SES, and our supporting brigades from Narraport, Wyche South, Dumosa and Glen...loth will not be out and about door knocking for Good Friday. It absolutely breaks our hearts. Because the RCH has been instrumental in saving the lives of so many kids in Wycheproof, and everyone, and I mean EVERYONE, knows someone who has been touched by the magic of the RCH doctors, nurses, specialists and the support staff. If you have never been inside this hospital, it’s a whole other world. You can not describe it. It’s been a home for some, short stay for some, life changing for some, and heartbreaking for some. But one thing that never changes is the amazing WORLD CLASS facility, that has some of the BEST medical staff in this country, and around the world. Not only are they looking after some of the most delicate and sickest children, there are floors and levels dedicated to the Murdoch Children’s Research Institute, where they are leading the way in helping make our precious children better. Consider making your donation online and if that is not possible, consider putting your change in one of the many tins sitting on the counters of our local businesses. These tins will be collected and tallied at a safer time. But your donation will count to those who are in there now, fighting for life. We thank everyone who have already donated generously in previous years, and we hope that when we are back on the trucks, literally rattling our tins that our community continues to give back.
