16.01.2022 What a fun week. Beau was fortunate to be cast lead role as Alex the lion for his school musical production Madagascar, performed this week at the Subiaco Arts Centre. Words cant really describe how much my heart is bursting with pride. Fantastic opportunity for a 10 year old. Fabulous job performing the triple threat. He spent endless hours rehearsing and was so committed to his performance. I also thoroughly enjoyed helping with choreography. Never did I think 10 years... ago my Beau would have the same passion and love for music and theatre as I do. Complete soul food. The future looks bright. 02.01.2022 My boy Beau became Head Boy at school this week. Incredibly happy and proud for him and excited as I know he will make a positive difference in this world. As many parents out there know, its both challenging and rewarding raising a child and adds another dimension doing it solo. Ive chosen to raise Beau as a boy/man who feels comfortable expressing his emotions in a healthy fashion, treats others as he wants to be treated, respects and loves himself first and values: boun...daries, integrity, resilience, strength, generosity and vulnerability. So far hes doing a stellar job and is a fabulous role model. He teaches me every day! I choose to live each moment and day making sure Im ok emotionally and psychologically. I know if Im ok, Beau is ok. If I need help, I seek help. If you need help, please ask for it. Coming from a European family Ive received some criticism over my parenting style, all with good intention. I am so grateful Ive been brave enough to live authentically and follow my truth in raising Beau. We certainly have our moments but its all working out far better than I ever expected.
