22.01.2022 A Subfloor area is damp, dark and if it has no airflow is perfect for mould and bacteria. As air moves through its cycles, the dirty air under the subfloor rises into your home. Along comes the mould spores, dampness, and bacteria. Zenith Remedial subfloor ventilation systems are very important for maintaining good air quality, both under and inside the building. 22.01.2022 If sub-floor ventilation is deemed inadequate, it can cause respiratory problems to your family by the propagation of mould and mildew which is influenced by under-floor humidity. Poor sub-floor ventilation will affect timber flooring structures sooner than later in the form of dry rot, not to mention leaving yourself vulnerable to termite attack. A drier sub-floor area is a major deterrent to termites. Proper home & underfloor ventilation can help reduce allergy and asthma symptoms and help ease other respiratory ailments that burden millions of people. Underfloor dampness is very common and you are right to be concerned about its impact on your health and your home as it can affect supporting flooring structures.

21.01.2022 We have been working with homeowners with Rising Damp issues in Sydney for over 20 years. The most effective method for the treatment of rising damp is installing a chemical damp proof course (DPC). This process is quicker, less costly, and intrusive than alternative methods. Other methods often involve removing large sections of brickwork and wall coverings to get to the interior of the walls. We use products from Techdry which include a chemical damp proof cream (Silicon-ba...sed). This is installed into the mortar and a salt retarder which is used in the render mix. On face bricks with no render, we can also provide salt extraction which involves using the Westox Cocoon System. In all cases, we inspect the cavities using digital cameras to ensure that our DPC installation will not be bridged out by a blocked cavity. If there is higher ground on the opposite side of the wall we will then need to implement negative waterproofing membranes. 19.01.2022 Ventilation is an important element of an energy-efficient home. Air sealing techniques can reduce air leakage to the point that contaminants with known health effects such as formaldehyde, volatile organic compounds and radon are sealed into the house. Ventilation also helps control moisture, which can lead to mould growth and structural damage. In a tight home, mechanical ventilation is necessary to achieve effective ventilation. 18.01.2022 The Myth or the Mess? There is no doubt that rising damp is widely known to be a massive nuisance. It is also known that some believe it to be a myth! It is also widely known when anything porous makes contact with water it will absorb this water. Now think of the materials your house is made from. The most common materials, brick and stone are porous; now think how long ago your house was built. ... Thats how long it has been absorbing water into the structure, and that water soaks up through the porous materials into the walls and floors. Most houses would have a damp proof course to prevent this BUT for various reasons they fail to work correctly. Do you need the help of the professionals at Zenith Remedial? We are the experts in Rising Damp. Lets have a chat about how our team can help you and the value of your home today. 16.01.2022 ? Rising damp is when moisture from under the house gets into the internal walls. Its a common problem with older buildings that are made of porous materials like brick or wood, or houses that havent been maintained properly. If left untreated, rising damp spreads fast into the walls and ceiling, making them more vulnerable to mould, wood rot, and structural failure. Any house with a damaged damp proof course (a layer under the house that prevents ground moisture from rising) can also fall victim to rising damp. If your house is primarily made of brickwork, slate, or unprotected concrete, you are at a higher risk of being vulnerable to rising damp.

08.01.2022 How to treat the problem of rising damp in your home? Rising damp is a serious issue that affects many homeowners in Sydney. It is a rare form of dampness that can affect the walls of buildings. It primarily occurs when the moisture from the ground travels upwards through the walls. It happens because the tiny tubes in the bricks suck up the groundwater and the water contains salt that travels through the walls and affects the building significantly. It generally affects the internal walls and also affects the paint and plaster and you can see the white salt stains appear on the walls. Find out how to fix this problem and call the team today 1300 314 113 or visit https://zenithremedial.com.au/hmp_services/rising-damp/

04.01.2022 Rising damp occurs in the lower portion of walls, and can affect areas of between .5 and 1.5 metres above the ground. It is often visible on walls by way of a tide mark. This term refers to an obvious line where the rising damp ends. This line occurs due to the deposits of salt that occur when moisture rises up through walls affected by rising damp; when the water evaporates, a line of salt remains. Rising damp is also evident through a number of other building-related sym...ptoms, including crumbling and cracking of masonry and building materials, and damage to paint and wallpaper. 04.01.2022 As opposed to regular dampness, rising damp is a specific condition whereby groundwater rises vertically through the pores of a wall structure, leading to the deterioration of the solid structure. The natural process of evaporation means that rising damp rarely continues above a height of 1.5 metres, however, given the right conditions the dampness can sometimes rise even higher causing even more destruction.

04.01.2022 Does your home feel damp? Can you smell musty odours? Do you have visible signs of mould in your bathroom or laundry? Any signs of termites or rotting timber? If you answered yes to any of these, give our specialist team at Zenith Remedial a call NOW!

03.01.2022 Generally, if you can see or smell mould, you need to clean up and remove the mould immediately, as mould can damage surfaces it grows on. The longer it grows the more damage it can cause. Mould only grows when there is sufficient moisture. When mould appears, the first task is to try to establish where the moisture is coming from.... Parts of a house that get wet or have poor ventilation are prone to mould growth, such as: Kitchens, bathrooms and laundries due to condensation or high humidity and leaking pipes Cupboards and corners due to restricted ventilation walls or windows that are exposed to hot indoor air and cold outdoor air Walls and ceilings due to insufficient insulation or rain seeping through the roof. Avoid conditions encouraging mould growth, by using heat, insulation and ventilation. Get in touch with the professionals at Zenith Remedial today.

03.01.2022 . Companies that cover up your rising damp issue will not solve your problems because rising damp is not a surface though a DEPTH problem. It deeply permeates the wall fabric and the decay continues behind the surface, behind the new plaster or membrane, and will lead to more expensive repairs later on.... 03.01.2022 ? An energy recovery ventilation system is one that takes the energy from an and uses it to treat the being drawn in.
